AUDIO STREAMING DEVICE
An audio streaming device for streaming an audio signal to at least one hearing assistive device (32). The audio streaming device comprises at least one input transducer (21), an electronic sensor device (28) adapted for sensing gravitational forces acting on the audio streaming device (20), and a transmitter (30) adapted for streaming audio from the at least one input transducer (21) to the at least one hearing assistive device (32). The audio streaming device (20) further comprises a shock protection unit (31) adapted for comparing an output signal from the electronic sensor device (28) to a first threshold value, and ceasing streaming by the transmitter (30) of the audio stream from the at least one input transducer (21), when the output signal from the electronic sensor device (28) exceeds the first threshold value.
Inertial sensor, electronic device, and vehicle
An inertial sensor includes a substrate, a sensor element provided on the substrate, a lid that covers the sensor element and is bonded to the substrate, and a plurality of terminals positioned outside the lid and electrically coupled to the sensor element, in which the plurality of terminals include an input terminal to which an electrical signal is input and a detection terminal for detecting a signal from the sensor element, and L1>L2, where L1 is a distance between the input terminal and the lid, and L2 is a distance between the detection terminal and the lid.
Shock sensor resonance detection for notch filter tuning
A method of tuning a notch filter in a data storage device (DSD) including the notch filter and a shock detection system includes: adjusting pulse width modulator (PWM) frequency settings of a spindle drive signal; detecting a maximum noise level of an output signal of the shock detection system while adjusting the PWM frequency settings; and selecting a notch filter frequency corresponding to a PWM frequency setting at which the maximum noise level of the output signal of the shock detection system is detected.
Method for accurate and reliable detection of falls using digital motion sensors
The invention is a method for detection is an individual has fallen down using data from a hardware motion sensor, and moreover, integrating contextual and environmental data to improve accuracy and reduce false positives. Such a sensor could be embedded into a smartwatch, mobile phone, or wearable device, rendering this method suitable for tracking the health and wellness of individuals of limited independence such as the elderly.
DISPLAY APPARATUS, PORTABLE TERMINAL, AND OPERATING METHOD OF DISPLAY APPARATUS
A display apparatus includes: a display module including a display panel, a window member on the display panel and having an area greater than an area of the display panel, and a magnetic member attached to at least one of the display panel and the window member; a set bracket under the display module; and an electro permanent magnet fixed to the set bracket. The electro permanent magnet is coupled to the display module in a first mode and decoupled from the display module in a second mode. The display apparatus is configured to enter the second mode from the first mode if an impact equal to or greater than a reference value is applied or is to be applied after a period of time.
Hyper-velocity impact sensor
A hyper-velocity impact sensor is configured to probe a mass of material consumed upon impact with an object. The probe can extract density and thickness characteristics of the impacted object, which can be used to classify the object.
VEHICLE NOTIFICATION APPARATUS
A vehicle notification apparatus recognizes an object of driving over on a road on which a host vehicle travels based on a detection result by a front sensor of the host vehicle, determines whether the object of driving over flies backwards based on a detection result by a rear sensor of the host vehicle when the object of driving over is recognized, and notifies a following vehicle of projectile information corresponding to the flight of the object of driving over when it is determined that the object of driving over flies backwards.
System and method for determining distance of free fall
A sensor includes a MEMS element responsive to acceleration, an analog-to-digital converter coupled to an output of the MEMS element, and a free fall detector coupled to an output of the analog-to-digital converter. The free fall detector is configured to determine whether the sensor is in free fall based on acceleration information received from the analog-to-digital converter. A digital interface is coupled to the analog-to-digital converter and to an output of the free fall detector and is configured to issue an output related to free fall information determined by the free fall detector.
SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD CONFIGURED TO DETECT, ANALYZE AND/OR REPORT IMPACT TO OUTPUT DEVICE
Systems, apparatuses and methods are provided to allow for detection of an impact to an output apparatus. Such impact may be caused by a sudden force applied to one or more points on the apparatus housing or another part of the apparatus accessible from outside the apparatus housing. An impact detector outputs to an apparatus controller an impact report including impact time and impact data corresponding to the detected impact event.
Method and apparatus for analyzing a collision in an electronic device
An electronic device includes at least one sensor configured to collect sensing data, a memory configured to store the sensing data, and a processor. The processor is configured to acquire first sensing data through the at least one sensor and determine a falling pattern of the electronic device based on the first sensing data, acquire second sensing data through the at least one sensor and determine a collision pattern according to falling of the electronic device based on the second sensing data, determine the type of object with which the electronic device collides based on the falling pattern and the collision pattern, and perform a preset function based on the type of the object.
