A switching method for a half bridge power converter includes at least a pair of power switches in legs of the convertor providing upper and lower branch power switches and first and second gate control circuits for the upper and lower branch power switches. The switching method includes sensing the current derivative in the upper and lower branches during switching of the pair of power switches to provide a first signal and a second signal proportional to the current derivative of the power current in the upper and lower power switches, summing the first and second signals to provide a summed current derivative signal, and adding the summed current derivative signal to the power switch command signal of the first and second gate control circuits causing the summed derivative signals to modulate the gate commutation signals of the gate control circuits.

STRAY CURRENT DETECTION IN WIND TURBINE GENERATORS

An electrical power generating assembly for a wind turbine. The electrical power generating assembly comprises a gearbox comprising a gearbox output shaft, a generator comprising a rotor that is coupled to the gearbox output shaft; and a current measuring module located between the gearbox and the generator. The current measuring module comprises: an electrical pickup mounted to the electrical power generating assembly, wherein the electrical pickup includes an electrical contact that engages with a slip ring associated with the rotor. The current measuring module further comprises: a first current measuring device mounted with respect to the electrical pickup to detect current flowing at least through the electrical pickup; and a second current measuring device mounted with respect to the electrical pickup to detect current flowing through at least a component associated with the gearbox output shaft.

An isolated voltage probe includes: a conductor including a positive lead, a negative lead, and a resistance via which the positive lead and the negative lead are connected to each other; a magnetic sensor for measuring a magnetic field in a non-contact manner, the magnetic field being generated by a current flowing through the conductor; and a coaxial cable for transmitting a signal that is based on an output supplied from the magnetic sensor.

An example welding-type system includes: processing circuitry; and a machine readable storage medium comprising a machine readable instruction, when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to: control a first switch to disconnect a motor circuit from a motor power source, the motor circuit comprising a wire feed motor and a second switch; control the second switch to permit current to flow while the first switch disconnects the motor circuit from the motor power source during a test period; and in response to feedback indicative of a current through the motor circuit while the first switch is open and the second switch is closed, detecting a fault condition associated with the motor circuit.

A holder for a current sensor having separable portions with inner surfaces forming an opening and opposing outer surfaces having a groove to accommodate a current sensing coil. The holder includes flexible members on the portions and extending toward the opening such that the flexible members can hold a power cable substantially centered within the opening and concentric with the current sensing coil. The portions are joined together with a hinge pivotally mounted between them at one end and a releasable clasp joining them together at another end, providing for ease of installation around the power cable by hand and without requiring tools or additional fasteners.

The present disclosure provides an improved Rogowski-type current sensor. The current measurement coil, and the compensation coil are provided on the same board. The measurement coil and the compensation coil are arranged such that they at least partially overlap by virtue of each repeatedly changing side of the board. This arrangement makes the current sensor far better at rejecting interference than certain other PCB Rogowski type coil arrangements.
