Systems, Methods, and Devices for Detection and Diagnosis of Brain Trauma, Mental Impairment, or Physical Disability

Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed which may be used to detect and determine the extent of brain trauma, mental impairment, physical disability, or other brain dysfunction by tracking one or more ocular responses.

Driving assistance device, driving assistance method, information-providing device, information-providing method, navigation device and navigation method

A heartbeat sensor obtains a heartbeat of a driver. A concentration level computing unit estimates a concentration level of the driver at a time later than a timing of obtaining the heartbeat by the heartbeat sensor, on the basis of the heartbeat obtained by the heartbeat sensor. A state determining unit controls driving assistance for a vehicle on the basis of a comparison of the concentration level of the driver estimated by the concentration level computing unit with a target concentration level of the driver that is set in association with a position or an environment in which the vehicle driven by the driver is predicted to travel.

Device for Diagnosing Brain Disease

To provide a device which can diagnose a brain disease by observing a pupil diameter. A device for diagnosing a brain disease, equipped with a display image control section (3), an imaging section (5) and a judgment section (7), wherein the display image control section (3) can vary a display image displayed on a display section on the basis of a first pattern, the imaging section (5) can take an image of the pupil of a user who watches the display image, and the judgment section (7) can determine whether or not the user is affected with a brain disease using a pattern of the time-dependent change in the size of the pupil of the user which is imaged by the imaging section and the first pattern.

EMOTIONAL/COGNITIVE STATE-TRIGGERED RECORDING
20170339338 · 2017-11-23 ·

Emotional/cognitive state-triggered recording is described. A buffer is used to temporarily store captured video content until a change in an emotional or cognitive state of a user is detected. Sensor data indicating a change in an emotional or cognitive state of a user triggers the creation of a video segment based on the current contents of the buffer.

Systems and methods using virtual reality or augmented reality environments for the measurement and/or improvement of human vestibulo-ocular performance
09788714 · 2017-10-17 · ·

A system and method for using a virtual reality or an augmented reality environment for the measurement and/or improvement of human vestibulo-ocular performance can be implemented by combining a video camera based eye orientation sensor, a head orientation sensor, a display, and an electronic circuit that connects the eye sensor, head sensor, and display. The system and method can be operated in the range of frequencies between 0.01 Hertz and 15 Hertz. The system and method can use a Fourier transform to compute a gain and a phase. The system and method can be used for measuring vestibulo-ocular reflex, dynamic visual acuity, dynamic visual stability, kinetic visual acuity, retinal image stability, or foveal fixation stability in a non-clinical setting. The system and method can be completely portable, head-worn, and self-contained.

Vision protection method and systems thereof

A vision protection method is provided to ensure a viewer to rest his/her eyes after viewing on an electronic device for a certain period, wherein the eyesight protection method includes the steps of detecting at least one of eye activities of the viewer and working parameter of the electronic device in a working mode of the electronic device during the viewer is working on a current work displaying by the electronic device; switching the working mode of the electronic device to a resting mode when an abnormal eye activity of the viewer is detected; and switching the electronic device from the resting mode back to the working mode to resume the display of the current work of the electronic device. Therefore, the viewer is enforced to rest his/her eyes after every certain period.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANATOMY-CONSTRAINED GAZE ESTIMATION

The disclosure relates to systems, methods and programs for anatomically-constrained gaze estimation. More specifically, the disclosure is directed to systems, methods and programs for providing a point of reference (PoR) in a 3D field and/or 2D plane, based on 6 DOF head pose constrained by the eyeball center being fixed in a common 3D coordinate system.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, SURGERY MICROSCOPE SYSTEM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
20170273559 · 2017-09-28 ·

[Object] To provide an information processing apparatus that is capable of presenting navigation information for ophthalmic surgery at high speed and with high precision. [Solving Means] An information processing apparatus according to the present technology includes a magnification acquisition unit and an image generation unit. The magnification acquisition unit acquires a magnification of a target image with respect to a reference image, the reference image being an image of an eye to be treated, the target image being an image of the eye picked up at a time different from an imaging time of the reference image. The image generation unit generates a navigation image including navigation information for guiding treatment of the eye on the basis of the magnification acquired by the magnification acquisition unit.

Control Of Wireless Communication Device Capability In A Mobile Device With A Biometric Key

An iris biometric recognition module includes technology for capturing images of an iris of an eye of a person, whether the person is moving or stationary. The iris biometric recognition technology can perform an iris matching procedure for, e.g., authentication or identity purposes, by comparing a digital iris image to a reference iris image and, if the digital and reference iris images match, authenticating a person as authorized to access a first device and transmitting a wireless communication from the first device to a second device.
