Collecting a database of spoofed devices
A method, apparatus and computer-readable storage medium are provided that maintain a database including information identifying of one or more mobile devices. Each mobile device of the one or more mobile devices is configured to enable positioning based on radio signals. The positioning enabled by the respective mobile device is considered to be at least partially unexpected.
SYNCHRONIZING RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
A system for synchronizing communications in a radio ranging process involves transmitting calibration signals according to a predetermined schedule of nominal transmission times. Timing offsets are determined. A start time is determined for a transmission of a ranging signal. The start time is earlier than a nominal start time of the ranging signal by at least the largest timing offset. Another system for synchronization involves a radio device transmitting a calibration signal to a second radio device and receiving a calibration response signal from the second radio device. A time-of-flight value is determined in dependence on a time of departure of the calibration signal and a time of arrival of the calibration response signal. A ranging signal is transmitted at a time determined in dependence on the determined time-of-flight value. A ranging response signal is received and processed to determine a range value.
DEVICE TRACKING WITH RADIO RANGING AND SENSOR FUNCTIONS
Methods and systems for identifying device positions include measuring radio signal strength information between devices. Inertial information is measured for the devices. The radio signal strength information and the inertial information are fused to determine relative locations between the devices. The relative locations are oriented to a fixed anchor node. Elevation is estimated for the plurality of devices using pressure sensor information.
Partially synchronized multilateration or trilateration method and system for positional finding using RF
Systems and methods for determining a location of one or more user equipment (UE) in a wireless system can comprise receiving reference signals via a location management unit having two or more co-located channels, wherein the two or more co-located channels are tightly synchronized with each other and utilizing the received reference signals to calculate a location of at least one UE among the one or more UE. Embodiments include multichannel synchronization with a standard deviation of less than or equal 10 ns. Embodiments can include two LMUs, with each LMU having internal synchronization, or one LMU with tightly synchronized signals.
System and method for tracking low powered beacon tags
There is described a system for tracking beacon tags comprising a communication component and a processor. The communication component receives a beacon from a beacon tag and transmit an acknowledgment of the beacon. The processor identifies a tag characteristic associated with the beacon tag and generates a tag instruction based on the tag characteristic. The tag instruction includes a beaconing rate for the beacon tag, and the acknowledgment includes the tag instruction. There is also described a beacon tag for operating with a tracking system comprising a communication component and a processor. The communication component transmits a first beacon, receive an acknowledgment associated with the beacon, and transmit a second beacon from the beacon tag based on an adjusted beaconing rate. The processor identifies a tag instruction of the acknowledgment and adjusts the beaconing rate of the beacon tag based on the tag instruction.
User equipment radiated in-band phase center offset variation compensation using a reference device
Improved techniques of UE local and network assisted compensation of the UE PCO impact on positioning reference signal include performing compensation of positioning measurement error by transmitting a reference signal to a proximate reference device. In some implementations, the reference signal is a wideband reference signal, and the compensation is over a wide band of frequencies. In some implementations, the positioning measurement error includes a PCO in-band variation (IBV). In such an implementation, the UE may associate a respective compensation over the wide band of frequencies with an antenna panel and/or an angle with respect to the proximate reference device (RD).
Method and apparatus for positioning
Provided is a positioning method performed by a user equipment (UE). The positioning method includes receiving reference signals from a plurality of base stations; acquiring phase difference information depending on a wavelength of at least one subcarrier among subcarriers included in the reference signals; calculating first estimated coordinates of the UE based on first phase difference information depending on a wavelength of a first subcarrier among the subcarriers; and calculating a first travel distance difference between the reference signals from the first estimated coordinates and estimating integer ambiguity of a second phase difference depending on a wavelength of a second subcarrier from the first travel distance difference.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING WHEN AN ESTIMATED ALTITUDE OF A MOBILE DEVICE CAN BE USED FOR CALIBRATION OR LOCATION DETERMINATION
Determining when an estimated altitude of a mobile device can be used for calibration or location determination. Particular systems and methods determine an area in which the mobile device is expected to reside, determine an altitude value of each section of a plurality of sections in the area, determine if the altitude values meet a threshold condition, and determine that the estimated altitude of the mobile device can be used for determining the position of the mobile device or for calibrating a pressure sensor of the mobile device when the altitude values meet the threshold condition.
ESTIMATING CHARACTERISTICS OF OBJECTS IN ENVIRONMENT
Methods and systems disclosed herein may include receiving signals from a transmitter in a receiver; determine a bias of the transmitter and receiver; generating expected observations, based on the bias, corresponding to the received signals; and calculate a building height based on a power level of the received signals and a power level of the expected observations.
REPORTING OF COMBINED MEASUREMENT ASSOCIATED WITH MULTIPLE SAMPLES FOR A POSITION ESTIMATION SESSION
Disclosed are techniques for communication. In an aspect, a UE reports a combination pattern for a combined measurement associated with samples across PRS occasions of a PRS measurement procedure. In another aspect, a UE reports a combined calibration error of a combined measurement associated with samples across PRS occasions of a PRS measurement procedure. The reported combination pattern and/or combined calibration error may be used by a position estimation entity for derivation of a position estimate of the UE.
