PHOTO CONTENT CLUSTERING FOR DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME DISPLAY AND AUTOMATED FRAME CONVERSATION

A method and system for automated routing of pictures taken on mobile electronic devices to a digital picture frame including a camera, microphone, and speaker integrated with the frame, and a network connection module allowing the frame for direct contact and upload of photos from electronic devices or from photo collections of community members. Clustering photos by content is used to improve display and to respond to photo viewer desires. Trends or patterns can be detected from the photo collections and that information used for various purposes beyond photo display. The frame includes a conversational intelligence that provides a verbal communication with a viewer, such as for determining an identity or preferences of the frame viewer, determining photos to display for the viewer, discussing displayed photos with the viewer, or telling stories to the viewer based upon photo content.

COMBINED FINE TIMING MEASUREMENT (FTM) AND NON-FTM MESSAGING FOR ESTIMATING TURN-AROUND CALIBRATION FACTOR
20170367063 · 2017-12-21 ·

In one aspect, a method includes performing, by a wireless station, a fine timing measurement (FTM) procedure that includes exchanging one or more FTM messages between the wireless station and an access point to obtain a first round-trip time (RTT) between the wireless station and the access point. The method also includes performing, by the wireless station, a non-FTM procedure to obtain a second RTT between the wireless station and the access point. The wireless station then calculates a turn-around calibration factor (TCF) estimate of the access point based on a difference between the second RTT and the first RTT. Data representative of the TCF estimate of the access point may then be sent to a server.

Location determination using a companion device

Methods, systems, and computer program products for a mobile device determining its location based on a location of a companion device are described. A mobile device can receive a request for determining a location of the mobile device from an application. The request can include an accuracy specification providing a lower limit on accuracy of the determined location. The mobile device can determine that the mobile device is incapable of achieving that accuracy. The mobile device can then submit a location request to a companion device that has paired with the mobile device. The companion device, upon receiving the location request, can determine a location of the companion device and provide the location of the companion device to the mobile device. The mobile device can then designate the location of the companion device as the location of the mobile device, and provide the location to the application.

Systems and methods for determining a location of a mobile computing device requesting emergency services are provided. A mobile computing device may receive an indication of a request for emergency services from a user of the mobile computing device. The mobile computing device may receive a first wireless signal from a first device. The wireless signal may include an indication of a first geographic position associated with the first device. The mobile computing device may determine a location associated with the mobile computing device based on the indication of the first geographic position associated with the first device, and may send the determined location to a provider of emergency services.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROVIDING POSITIONING INFORMATION TO AIRCRAFT
20230176168 · 2023-06-08 · ·

The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for autonomously detecting and correcting anomalies in position information provided to aircraft using radio-frequency signals. By enabling autonomously detecting and correcting for anomalies in the operation of a ground-based solution entirely independent of GPS, systems of the present disclosure can make the provided position information more accurate and robust, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and safety of navigation systems using the provided position information. More precisely, systems of the present disclosure may employ a series of ground-based beacon transmitters to provide radio-frequency (RF) signal pulse with a highly regular frequency. A locating receiver can detect the arrival times of these pulses and use this information to detect and report certain anomalies. These reports may then be used to autonomously correct the detected anomalies.

An ordnance munition is included in an intelligent ordnance projectile delivery system and equipped with targeting and guidance systems that allow the ordnance munition to collaborate with other devices to intelligently select targets and/or to guide the ordnance munition to its selected target. The ordnance munition may be configured to generate first location information based on its determined approximate location, send the generated first location information to a wireless transceiver in proximity to the first ordnance munition, and receive location information from the wireless transceiver in response. The ordnance munition may determine its more precise location based on the received location information, and generating second location information based on the more precise location. The ordnance munition may change or adjust its flight path or trajectory based on the generated second location information.

Method and apparatus for selectively utilizing an online positioning system to determine a reference position associated with fingerprint data

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to estimate the reference position associated with fingerprint data by selectively utilizing an online positioning system. In the context of a method and in an instance in which a global navigation satellite system is available for location determination, the method determines the location of a data collection device in conjunction with the collection of fingerprint data. In this instance, the location is determined based upon information provided by the global navigation satellite system. However, in an instance in which the global navigation satellite system is unavailable for location determination, the method provides, via a computer network, an online positioning system with at least some fingerprint data collected by the data collection device. In this instance, the method also determines the location of the data collection device in conjunction with the fingerprint data based upon information provided by the online positioning system.
