Signal processing device controlling a gain of a current signal
11609312 · 2023-03-21 · ·

In a signal processing device, a branch section generates, from an input signal which is a current signal, a plurality of branch signals that are proportional to the input signal and have different signal intensities, and supplies the plurality of branch signals to respective different individual paths. A selection section selects one of the plurality of individual paths and outputs a signal supplied through the selected individual path. A determination section determines whether in each of the plurality of individual paths, a magnitude of a signal supplied to the selection section is in a preset allowable range. A control section causes the selection section to select the individual path having a highest gain among the individual paths in which the magnitude of the signal is determined by the determination section to be in the allowable range.

INTELLIGENT RADAR SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Aspects of the invention provide improvements to analyze data collected by a radar system. One of the systems includes a phased array module configured to transmit a sequence of pulses to an environment according to a pre-determined pattern. A data analysis system constructs an image based on returned signals from a single point received by the phased array module, and determines one or more characteristics of a target object in the environment based on the image constructed from the returned signals from the single point.

In embodiments, an apparatus may include a compute device to aggregate perception data from individual perception pipelines, each of which is associated with respective one of different types of sensors of a heterogeneous sensor set, to identify a characteristic associated with a space to be monitored by the heterogeneous sensor set; detect a sensor deficiency associated with a first sensor of the sensors; and in response to a detection of the sensor deficiency, derive next perception data for more than one of the individual perception pipelines from sensor data originating from at least one second sensor of the sensors. Other embodiments may be disclosed or claimed.

Phase noise compensation system, and method

A system for compensating for phase noise, with particular application in lidar, includes a compensation interferometer that receives a signal from a source, and splits it into a first and second path, with a path length difference Δτ between them. Typically the path length is significantly less than that of the return distance to a target. The output of the compensation interferometer, which consists of phase noise generated in time Δτ is vectorially summed during a time similar to a signal flight time to a target, and the result used to reduce phase noise present on measurements of a target. It further includes means for selecting Δτ such that competing noise elements are reduced or optimised.

Method for detecting potential faulty states on an FMCW-based filling level measuring apparatus

Disclosed is a method for detecting a faulty state of an FMCW-based fill level measuring device. For this, a correlation coefficient is ascertained by correlation, especially cross correlation, of the measurement signal with a reference signal. The faulty state is accordingly detected when the correlation coefficient subceeds a predefined minimum value. In this way, the functioning of the fill level measuring device can be monitored with a degree of safety allowing the fill level measuring device to be applied also in process plants and measuring environments, which require extremely reliable measuring apparatuses, and measurement data.
