PROCESSING CIRCUITRY, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REDUCING ELECTRICAL POWER CONSUMPTION IN AN ULTRASOUND IMAGING PROBE BASED ON INTERLACED DATA ACQUISITION AND RECONSTRUCTION ALGORITHM
20220299634 · 2022-09-22 · ·

An interlaced data acquisition scheme is employed in an ultrasound imaging device to reduce the amount of electrical power consumed by the device's transmit firings when collecting video data. Reducing electrical consumption according to the present disclosure reduces battery size, weight and cost; reduces heat generation; reduces need for heat-dissipating materials in the probe and prolongs probe uptime. A reconstruction algorithm is employed to produce images from the interlaced data that are comparable in quality to videos that would be obtained by a conventional (non-interlaced) image acquisition.

Method and system to prevent depoling of ultrasound transducer

An ultrasound system, probe and method are provided. The ultrasound system includes a transducer with piezoelectric transducer elements polarized in a poling direction. A bipolar transmit circuit is configured to generate a transmit signal having first and second polarity segments. The first and second polarity segments have corresponding first and second peak amplitudes. A bias generator is configured to generate a bias signal in a direction of the poling direction. The bias signal is combined with the transmit signal to form a biased transmit signal that is shifted in the direction of the poling direction and still includes both of positive and negative voltages over a transmit cycle.

In some cases, the improvement of the quality of the at least one frame of the ultrasound image sequence with reduced image quality is achieved by application of machine learning.

Photoacoustic measurement device and method

An acoustic wave detector detects photoacoustic waves generated by absorbing measurement light emitted toward a subject, and reflected acoustic waves with respect to acoustic waves transmitted toward the subject. A preamplifier amplifies a detection signal output by the acoustic wave detector. A bypass unit is intended to output the detection signal without passing through the preamplifier. Controller causes the preamplifier to enter an operating state and selects a first path along which the detection signal is amplified by the preamplifier and then is input to the reception circuit as a signal path in a case where the photoacoustic waves are detected. The controller stops an amplification operation in the preamplifier and selects a second path along which the detection signal is input to the reception circuit via a bypass unit as the signal path in a case where reflected acoustic waves are detected.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTING POWER STATES IN AN ULTRASOUND IMAGING SYSTEM

An ultrasound imaging system includes a processor that is programmed to operate the system in a normal operating state and two or more lesser power states. The processor lowers the operating power state to a lesser power state upon detecting one or more operating conditions such as no tissue been imaged in a predetermined time limit or that the imaging system or transducer has not been moved in a time limit. Upon awakening from a power off state, the processor implements a lesser power state before operating at the normal operating state to avoid undue power use until the transducer is positioned to image tissue.
