Radiation monitor

A screw compressor includes a screw rotor, a casing, and a fluid supply portion to supply fluid in a membrane form into a compression chamber in the casing. The screw rotor has a male and female rotors. A male bore covering the male rotor and a female bore covering the female rotor are formed on the inner surface of the casing. An intersection line, on a higher pressure side, of the male and female bores is defined as a compression cusp. In a bore development view, a trajectory made by the first intersection of an extension line of a female lobe ridge and a male lobe ridge being moved, along with the rotation of the male and female rotors, is defined as a trajectory line. An opening of the fluid supply section to the compression chamber is positioned between the compression cusp and the trajectory line.

Digital radiographic detector front cover bonding

A DR detector is formed from a housing with a cover attached to the housing. Shaped gaps formed in the housing and/or cover include a bonding agent or adhesive therein to fix the cover to the housing. Other attachment means such as screws or pins may be used instead of, or in combination with, the bonding agent.

RADON DETECTION WITH A THREE-PART DIFFUSION CHAMBER AND SCINTILLATION COATING OVER AN EXTENDED SURFACE

There is a need for routine radon screening of homes, especially in states which require radon screening prior to sale, that are compact, inexpensive, do not require a professional to operate, and which, further, can yield a significant measurement in hours or minutes rather than days. The present invention provides for a combination of control of entry of radon by adjusting the separation between and the area of a multi-element shell, into a measuring chamber while excluding light and extraneous particulate material. This permits a design with a faster response time and also provides for the accurate measurement of individual scintillation events in a scintillating medium by imaging of, and discriminating specific energy levels related to the known energies of alpha particles emitted in the decay pathway of radon. This discrimination functions as an alpha-particle spectrometer and will. Thus, other background radioactive disintegrations or cosmic ray events will be filtered out of the signal. The invention will make use of the optics and imaging arrays as are in state-of-the-art mobile phone cameras. Use of camera components of mobile phones will permit cost savings since they are already in very large-scale production.

The present specification discloses a system that employs a shutter-less method of measuring afterglow, in which the start and termination of the stimulating radiation from the radiation source is controlled electronically. A fast decay scintillator may be used in the beam path to monitor and track the rise and fall of the stimulating radiation to determine the dose and full cessation of the stimulating radiation. This information is used to calculate the afterglow for a slow decay scintillator. This method can also be used to calibrate and normalize scanned image data and produce an enhanced image. The fast decay scintillator is used as a monitoring or tracking device to be able to determine radiation source decay.
