The electronics layer comprises: a first and second voltage comparators configured to compare a voltage of an electrode to a first and second thresholds respectively; a counter configured to register a number of X-ray photons absorbed by the X-ray absorption layer; and a controller configured to: start a time delay from a time at which an absolute value of the voltage equals or exceeds an absolute value of the first threshold; activate the second voltage comparator during the time delay; cause the number registered by the counter to increase by one, if, during the time delay, an absolute value of the voltage equals or exceeds an absolute value of the second threshold.
Detection of x-rays, and x-ray detector system
A method is disclosed for detecting x-rays using an x-ray detector which includes a direct-conversion semiconductor detector element. Additional radiation is supplied to the semiconductor detector element using a radiation source, and the supply of the additional radiation is controlled and/or regulated on the basis of a specified target value. In at least one embodiment, the target value can be specified in a variable manner over time as a sequence of target values. An x-ray detector system is further disclosed, with which the method can be carried out.
LOW-DOSE X-RAY IMAGING SYSTEM
A back illuminated sensor preferably is included as a collector component of a detector for use in intraoral and extraoral 2D and 3D dental radiography, positron emission tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). The disclosed imaging method includes one or more intraoral or extraoral emitters for emitting a low-dose gamma ray or x-ray beam through a dental examination area; and one or more intraoral or extraoral detectors for receiving the beam, each detector including a back illuminated sensor. Within the detector, the beam preferably is converted into light and then focused and collected at a photocathode layer without passing through the wiring layer of the back illuminated sensor.
DETECTOR UNIT FOR DETECTOR ARRAY OF RADIATION IMAGING MODALITY
Among other things, a detector unit for a detector array of a radiation imaging modality is provided. In some embodiments, the detector unit comprises a radiation detection sub-assembly and an electronics sub-assembly. The electronics sub-assembly comprises electronic circuitry, embedded within a molding compound, configured to digitize analog signals yielded from the radiation detection sub-assembly and/or to otherwise process such analog signals. The electronics sub-assembly also comprises a substrate, such as a printed circuit board, configured to route signals between the electronic circuitry and a photodetector array of the radiation detection sub-assembly and/or to route signals between the electronic circuitry and digital processing components, such as an image generator, for example.
Multi-module photon detector and use thereof
The invention relates to a photon detector (10), in particular an x-ray detector, in the form of a measurement finger, which extends along a detector axis (23) and has a detector head (11) at a first end of the measurement finger, wherein the detector head (11) comprises a plurality of at least two detector modules (22), each comprising a sensor chip (12) sensitive to photon radiation (14), in particular x-radiation, said sensor chip having an exposed end face (13) and a face facing away from the end face (13), wherein the detector modules (22) are arranged around the detector axis (23) in a plane (24) extending orthogonally to the detector axis (23).
X-RAY DETECTOR WITH PROTECTIVE ELEMENT AND ADHESIVE ELEMENT
An X-ray detector includes an anti-scatter grid, an electrode and a converter element for converting X-rays into electrical charges in a stacking arrangement. In an embodiment, the stacking arrangement is externally enclosed by a protective element. The protective element extends in the stacking direction such that an enclosed area is at least arranged between the anti-scatter grid and the converter element and along the entire height of the converter element in the stacking direction. An adhesive element is arranged between the anti-scatter grid and the electrode.
SURGICAL PROBE AND APPARATUS WITH IMPROVED GRAPHICAL DISPLAY
An apparatus for detecting a locating medium in tissue includes a probe, and a console. The probe includes a handle and a detector disposed on a distal end of the probe. The console is in communication and includes a display. The display has a first graphical representation and a second graphical representation. The first graphical representation is configured to depict a count real-time count based on a signal from the detector. The second graphical representation is configured to depict a target count.
Electronic cassette
An electronic cassette is provided with a sensor panel, a housing, operation buttons, a head-bottom setting section, lamps and a memory. The sensor panel has a quadrangle imaging area, and detects an X-ray image of a patient. The housing houses the sensor panel. The operation buttons are disposed on the housing. When either one of the operation buttons is pushed down, the head-bottom setting section sets either one of adjoining two sides of the imaging area to be the head of the radiographic image in the display orientation. The display section is disposed on the housing, and displays which side is set by the head-bottom setting section to be the head of the radiographic image. The memory stores head-bottom setting information and the radiographic image in association with each other.
RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS
A radiographic image capturing apparatus includes the following. A connector coupling detector detects coupling between an external connector and a connector of the radiographic image capturing apparatus. A power supply detector detects an available state of external electric power. A controller controls a turned-on and a turned-off state of the radiographic image capturing apparatus. At a timing when the power supply detector detects a change from the available state to the unavailable state of the external electric power, the controller turns off the radiographic image capturing apparatus if the connector coupling detector detects the coupling between the external connector and the connector of the radiographic image capturing apparatus, or the controller maintains the turned-on state if the connector coupling detector detects the uncoupling between the external connector and the connector of the radiographic image capturing apparatus.
