More particularly, embodiments relate to an underwater application system for application of a streamer coating to a surface of a streamer. An embodiment may comprise a marine geophysical survey system. The marine geophysical survey system may comprise a streamer and an underwater application system operable to apply a streamer coating to the streamer as the underwater application system travels axially along the streamer.
FAST POWER ON METHOD FOR MARINE ACQUISITION STREAMER
A marine seismic streamer includes plural concentrators, plural segments interposed with the plural concentrators so that a concentrator of the plural concentrators is sandwiched between two segments of the plural segments, a first high-voltage rail HV1 that extends along the plural concentrators and the plural segments, and a second high-voltage rail HV2 that extends along the plural concentrators and the plural segments. In each given concentrator i of the plural concentrators, there is a first switch SW1 placed along one of the first high-voltage rail HV1 and the second high-voltage rail HV2, a second switch SW2 placed between the first high-voltage rail HV1 and the second high-voltage rail HV2, a first local controller implemented in hardware, and a second local controller implemented in a combination of hardware and software, and having an operating system, the first local controller being separated from the second local controller.
LONG-OFFSET ACQUISITION WITH IMPROVED LOW FREQUENCY PERFORMANCE FOR FULL WAVEFIELD INVERSION
A marine streamer includes: an optical fiber disposed along a length of the streamer; a light source; and light analysis equipment, wherein: the length is at least 20 km, a diameter of the streamer is no more than 25 mm, the optical fiber, light source, and light analysis equipment are configured to provide a receiver sampling density of at least 1 per meter, and the streamer is configured to be towed nominally horizontally through a body of water. A method of marine surveying includes: towing a streamer spread at a first depth of 10 m to 30 m with a survey vessel; and towing Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) streamers at a second depth of greater than 30 m. A method includes: acquiring long-offset data with sensors distributed along the DAS streamers.
Obtaining seismic data in areas covered with ice
The invention relates to a seismic streamer (1) for underwater towing at a towing speed in ice-free or wholly or partially icy water, the streamer (1) is provided with birds (2) spaced along the streamer, the streamer including the birds (2) has negative buoyancy, the birds have wings (8) which can be set so that the birds during movement in the water apply an upward or downward force on the streamer. The streamer (1) is provided with buoyant bodies (4) spaced along the streamer, the buoyant bodies are connected to the streamer by spacer elements (5), the streamer including the birds, the buoyant bodies with associated spacer elements and any other equipment together have positive buoyancy. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for securing a seismic streamer (1) from damage at a substantial reduction or cessation of towing speed when towing underwater in ice-free or wholly or partially icy water.
LINEAR ARRAY OF PIEZOELECTRIC TRANSDUCERS FOR TOWED MARINE STREAMERS
One embodiment disclosed relates to an array of sensors for towed marine streamers. The array may include a first plurality of transducers of a first form configured to have a first polarity in electrical response to a change in an environmental condition and a second plurality of transducers of a second form coupled to the first plurality of transducers and configured to have a second polarity, opposite of the first polarity, in electrical response to the change in the environmental condition. The first plurality may be equal to the second plurality. The first plurality of transducers may be coupled to the second plurality of transducers in a linearly alternating fashion. The array may be coupled to a amplifier. The array may be included along a length of at least a portion of a marine streamer. Another embodiment disclosed relates to a method of acquiring sensor signals in a marine streamer being towed by a vessel during a seismic marine survey. Other embodiments, aspects and features are also disclosed.
Stacked transistor packages
Transistor packages in space-constrained applications are disclosed. An apparatus may comprise a first transistor package and a second transistor package, wherein the first transistor package is stacked upon the second transistor package. The apparatus may further comprise a cover coupled to a printed circuit board (PCB) that is configured to cover at least a portion of the stacked first and second transistor packages. The first and second transistor package may be components in a power circuit that is configured to down-convert a received voltage from a first voltage level to a second, lower voltage level.
