Modular Fiber Optic Tray
The present invention provides modular trays having cutout features that are configured to engage with a mounting feature of one or more removable rails. The removable rails may be removeably secured to a tray body in a plurality of positions to allow a user to install or uninstall rails to support different sized fiber optic modules. For example, a tray may support a twenty-four optical fiber module, two twelve optical fiber modules, or three eight optical fiber modules. Fiber optic enclosures housing the trays can be affixed to the outside of a fiber optic enclosure and allow for easy stacking and unstacking.
FIBER DISTRIBUTION DEVICE
A fiber distribution device includes a swing frame chassis pivotally mounted to a support structure. At least a first optical splitter module is mounted to the swing frame chassis. Pigtails having connectorized ends are carried by the swing frame chassis and have portions that are routed generally vertically on the swing frame chassis. An optical termination field includes fiber optic adapters carried by the swing frame chassis. The fiber optic adapters are configured to receive the connectorized ends of the pigtails.
NETWORKING CABLE TRACER SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for providing a tracer function for networked cable systems used for data or power transmission. A self contained and self powered indicator circuit is described that enables tracing the location of both ends of a networked cable.
CABLE, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ELECTRONIC DEVICE
There is provided a cable including at least one optical fiber cable, at least two electrical cables provided so as to sandwich the optical fiber cable, and plugs positioned at both ends and each having an electrical contact part connected to each of the electrical cables.
OPTICAL CONNECTOR AND CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLIES
An exemplary optical connector assembly may include a substrate of an optical printed circuit board (OPCB) with at least one optical device thereon, the substrate including one or more recesses, an optical connector with one or more alignment members for coupling an end of an optical waveguide to the optical device, and one or more inserts, each having an orifice for receiving one of the one or more alignment members and each arranged to be received in one of the one or more recesses. When assembled, the one or more inserts may be received in the one or more recesses and the one or more alignment members may be received in the orifices of the one or more inserts thereby coupling the optical waveguide to the substrate to form the exemplary optical connector assembly.
Apparatus for and Method of Terminating a Multi-fiber Ferrule
An apparatus allows a plurality of optical fibers to be held together during the termination process. A handling device holds the optical fibers while a cleaving device allows for consistent cleaving of the optical fibers to ensure the ends are cleaved consistently. The handling device may also be used during the fixation of the optical fibers in the fiber optic ferrule. A method for terminating the plurality of optical fiber is also provided.
FIBER OPTIC END-FACE TRANSPARENT PROTECTOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
A protective assembly method using a transparent layer within the fiber interconnect system aids in optical coupling by preventing an air gap from forming between the fiber cores within a connector. A thin transparent film (or with adhesive) is placed over the fiber end-faces at the connector interface, the film having characteristics which allows it to conform to the fiber end and minimize coupling loss between fibers. The film is sized to fit connectors faces and can be temporary, being replaced with each installation. A coating can also applied to the connector surface, providing a similar effect, as well as structurally enhancing the connector surfaces.
LASER ARRANGEMENT WITH AUXILIARY RING
The invention relates to a transparent auxiliary ring for the adjustment, for the long-term stable operation and for protection of fiber-coupled laser arrangements.
CABLE CONNECTOR
There is provided a male cable connector (1) for reversibly connecting a computer network cable (7) to form at least one electrical connection or one optical connection to a second component, said male cable connector (1) comprising a male member (3) enclosing at least one electrical lead (14) electrically connected to one electric contact surface (13) and the network cable (7) or said male member (3) enclosing at least one optical fiber (17) connected to an optical connection surface (22) and the network cable (7), said male member (3) being associated with a front direction which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the male member (3) and directed from the cable (7) towards a forward end (11) of the male member (3) characterized in that said at least one electrical contact surface (13) or at least one optical connection surface (22) is arranged on the surface of the male member (3) and the male member (3) has a bore (4) for connecting a pull-cord. There is also provided a female connector, adaptors, cables and kits.
PLUG, RECEPTACLE, AND CONNECTOR
A plug of a connector that performs optical transmission is provided with an optical connection unit. The optical connection unit includes a lens that is provided on a side surface of the optical connection unit and performs optical connection with a lens provided on an optical connection unit of a receptacle in a direction orthogonal to an inserting/removing direction of the plug, and a locating surface that is provided on the side surface of the optical connection unit and abuts on a locating surface of the receptacle to determine a position of the optical connection unit in a mating condition of the plug into the receptacle.
