ADJUSTABLE LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE FOR A STEREOSCOPIC SURGICAL MICROSCOPE
An adjustable light source device for a stereoscopic surgical microscope has a circuit board and multiple light sources. The circuit board is mounted in an outer casing of the stereoscopic surgical microscope and is electrically connected to a host computer of the stereoscopic surgical microscope. The light sources are electrically mounted on the circuit board at spaced intervals around two objective lenses of the stereoscopic surgical microscope and extend out of the outer casing. Each one of the light sources has a wavelength different from wavelengths of the other light sources and is controlled to emit light by an operating set of the stereoscopic surgical microscope via a program processing interface of the host computer sending signals to the circuit board. The adjustable light source device can emit lights with different wavelengths to enable the stereoscopic surgical microscope to capture clearer images for various surgical divisions.
SURGICAL MICROSCOPE SYSTEM
A surgical microscope system includes a surgical microscope. In the surgical microscope, variable power optical systems are arranged horizontally to fold optical paths, thereby reducing a vertical size between eyepieces of the surgical microscope and a lower end of the same and expanding a working space under the surgical microscope. A camera is attached to an upper part of the surgical microscope to free a side face of the surgical microscope so that an accessory such as a fluorescent camera is attached to the side face.

STEREOSCOPIC VIEWING APPARATUS
A viewing apparatus for producing a stereoscopic image for an observer, the viewing apparatus comprising: first and second video projectors for projecting respective ones of first and second video images of an object, the first and second images being different images which are one or both of spatially and angularly shifted in relation to the object so as to convey parallax between the images; a mirror arrangement comprising a concave mirror which receives light from the first and second video projectors, the mirror arrangement being located in relation to the first and second video projectors such that focussed images of the object are produced at the mirror arrangement; and a viewing lens for relaying exit pupils corresponding to each of the focussed images as reflected by the mirror arrangement to a viewing plane so as to be viewable at the respective eyes of the observer as a stereoscopic image without use of adapted eyewear; wherein the video projectors comprise first and second video displays which are driven by first and second video signals to display respective ones of the first and second video images, and first and second optical arrangements for focussing light from the respective images as displayed by the first and second displays to the mirror arrangement.

METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS CAPTURE OF IMAGE DATA AT MULTIPLE DEPTHS OF A SAMPLE
A novel method is disclosed to allow for the simultaneous capture of image data from multiple depths of a volumetric sample. The method allows for the seamless acquisition of a 2D or 3D image, while changing on the fly the acquisition depth in the sample. This method can also be used for auto focusing. Additionally this method of capturing image data from the sample allows for optimal efficiency in terms of speed, and light sensitivity, especially for the herein mentioned purpose of 2D or 3D imaging of samples when using a tilted configuration as depicted in FIG. 2. The method may be particularly used with an imaging sensor comprising a 2D array of pixels in an orthogonal XY coordinate system where gaps for electronic circuitry are present. Also other imaging sensor may be used. Further, an imaging device is presented which automatically carries out the method.
