Dynamic quality proxy plural camera image blending
Examples are disclosed that relate to blending different types of images captured by different types of cameras employing different sensing modalities based on a dynamic weighting. The dynamic weighting is calculated based on a dynamic quality proxy that serves as an approximation of image quality that may change from image to image. In one example, a first image of a scene is received from a first camera. A dynamic quality proxy is received. A second image of the scene is received from a second camera with a different sensing modality than the first camera. A composite image blended from the first and second images in proportion to a dynamic weighting that is based on the dynamic quality proxy is output.
EYEWEAR INCLUDING A NON-UNIFORM PUSH-PULL LENS SET
Eyewear having a stereoscopic display including a lens system, and a non-uniform push-pull lens set wherein the lenses have an increasing optical power from top to bottom to pull virtual imagery closer to the top-back form of the blur and binocular horopters. The center of the optical power is slanted towards the nasal region from top to bottom to mimic the blur horopter's rotation. This provides an increase in user comfort for viewing virtual images on the stereoscopic display. One or both lenses of the push-pull set may have an area of electrically switchable optical power.
Three-dimensional display apparatus, three-dimensional display system, head up display, head up display system, three-dimensional display apparatus design method, and mobile object
A three-dimensional display apparatus comprises a display panel (display element) and a parallax barrier (optical element). The display panel displays a left-eye image and a right-eye image respectively in first subpixels and second subpixels. The parallax barrier transmits at least part of the left-eye image toward the left eye, and at least part of the right-eye image toward the right eye. A first certain number of the first subpixels and of the second subpixels are each successively arranged in each column. A region in which the first subpixels are arranged and a region in which the second subpixels are arranged are displaced from each other by a second certain number between two adjacent columns. The first certain number is greater than the second certain number and is not a multiple of the second certain number.
Head-mounted display apparatus
A head-mounted display apparatus includes a display unit including a substrate and display elements, and an optical element. The substrate includes a plurality of display portions and a plurality of light-transmitting portions, and the display elements are on the plurality of display portions of the substrate. The optical element is in an optical path of light that is emitted from the display unit and has through-holes that respectively correspond to the plurality of light-transmitting portions.
HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY APPARATUS
The occlusion is faithfully expressed even in the binocular vision in the AR display by a head mounted display apparatus or the like. A head mounted display apparatus 10 includes a lens 12, a lens 13, a camera 14, a camera 15, and a control processor 16. A CG image for a right eye is displayed on the lens 12. A CG image for a left eye is displayed on the lens 13. The camera 14 captures an image for the right eye. The camera 15 captures an image for the left eye. The control processor 16 generates the CG image for the right eye in which occlusion at the time of seeing by the right eye is expressed and the CG image for the left eye in which occlusion at the time of seeing by the left eye is expressed, based on the images captured by the cameras 14 and 15 and projects the generated CG image for the right eye and CG image for the left eye onto the lenses 12 and 13. A center of a lens of the camera 14 is provided at the same position as a center of the lens 12. A center of a lens of the camera 15 is provided at the same position as a center of the lens 13.
VEHICULAR HEAD-UP DISPLAY DEVICE
To provide a head-up display apparatus capable of displaying an easily visible image. The apparatus projects a display image displayed on the image displaying part installed in an instrument panel of a vehicle toward a windshield glass (translucent member) through an opening of the instrument panel, reflects the image on the windshield glass, and displays character information and symbol information as a virtual image, which is visible from a predetermined eye-position range. The character information is displayed in a first area where a difference in distortion (binocular parallax) of the virtual image is less than a predetermine value when the translucent member is seen from the predetermined eye-position range.
DYNAMIC UNIFORMITY CORRECTION
In one embodiment, a computing system may determine, a predicted eye position of a viewer corresponding to a future time moment for displaying a frame. The system may generate a first correction map for the frame based on the predicted eye position of the viewer. The system may retrieve one or more second correction maps used for correcting one or more proceeding frames. The system may generate a third correction map based on the first correction map generated based on the predicted eye position of the viewer and the one or more second correction maps used for correcting the one or more proceeding frames. The system may adjust pixel values of the frame based at least on the third correction map. The system may output the frame with the adjusted pixel values to a display.
HEAD-UP DISPLAY, VEHICLE DEVICE, AND INFORMATION DISPLAY METHOD
A head-up display (HUD) including a direction-information generator, a shift device, and a display system. The direction-information generator generates direction information to be superimposed on a road surface ahead of a vehicle on which the HUD is mounted. The direction information represents a direction of travel to be followed by the vehicle. The shift device shifts at least some of the direction-change information into the display area when the direction information includes direction-change information to represent a change in the direction of travel and the direction-change information falls outside a display area. The display system displays the direction information within the display area as a virtual image.
Pancake lens assembly and optical system thereof
An optical lens assembly and an optical system is provided. The optical lens assembly includes a first optical element including a partial reflector and a quarter-wave plate and a second optical element including a reflective polarizer. The first optical element and the second optical element form a cavity. The pancake lens assembly further includes a varifocal lens having an adjustable optical power, and the varifocal lens is disposed inside or outside the cavity.
DISPLAY SYSTEM, PROGRAM, DISPLAY METHOD, AND HEAD MOUNTED DEVICE
There is provided a display system used for a head mounted display including a head mounted device having a lens for guiding image light to an eye of a user and configured to be mounted on a head of the user and a portable terminal having an imaging unit for photographing a front of a display surface and capable of being housed in the head mounted device. The display system includes a display control section configured to display a moving image on the display surface, an image information obtaining section configured to obtain image information photographed by the imaging unit, and a position information obtaining section configured to obtain position information of an optical axis of the lens on the display surface on the basis of position information of at least two reference positions whose relative positions with respect to the optical axis are determined in advance, the at least two reference positions being included in the image information. The display control section displays the moving image in a region of the display surface according to the position information of the optical axis.
