CURVED LIGHT GUIDE IMAGE COMBINER AND SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
A device is provided. The device includes a light guide having a curved surface. The device also includes an out-coupling element coupled with the light guide at an output portion of the light guide. The device further includes a reflective layer disposed at the output portion of the light guide. The out-coupling element is configured to couple a first ray propagating inside the light guide out of the light guide as a plurality of second rays propagating in non-parallel directions toward the reflective layer. The reflective layer is configured to reflect the plurality of second rays as a plurality of third rays propagating in parallel directions toward the out-coupling element and the light guide.
Off-axis parabolic combiner
An off-axis optical combiner includes a parabolic lensing structure that selects collimated infrared image light received from an eyebox area for focusing to a focus of the off-axis optical combiner. Selecting the collimated infrared image light for focusing allows the parabolic lensing structure to form a same-sized image of an object having variable depth from the parabolic lensing structure.

The application provides an augmented reality display device comprising a projection source module (10) and an optical path module, wherein the projection source module (10) comprises a projection source (12), the projection source (12) has a curved light outgoing surface (12a), virtual image light (VL) is projected out of the projection source (12) via the curved light outgoing surface (12a), and the optical path module comprises a beamsplitter (20) and a reflector (60), wherein the virtual image light (VL) projected out of the projection source module (10) is incident on the beamsplitter (20), reflected by the beamsplitter (20) onto the reflector (60), reflected by the reflector (60), and then transmitted through the beamsplitter (20), entering a human eye (E) eventually. The application also provides a wearable augmented reality system comprising the augmented reality display device and a projection source module for the augmented reality display device.
DISPLAY FILM AND DISPLAY ASSEMBLY
The present disclosure provides a display film. The display film includes a substrate and a film stack provided on the substrate, wherein the film stack sequentially includes: a first high-refractive-index layer, a transflective coating layer and a second high-refractive-index layer; and the transflective coating layer is made of at least one metal and an oxide of the metal, or at least one metal and a nitride of the metal, or at least one metal and a nitride and an oxide of the metal. The present disclosure further provides a display assembly using the display film. The display assembly of the present disclosure can display projected information.
Curved reflective polariser films and methods of shaping
Shaped optical films and methods of shaping optical films are described. The method includes securing at least portions of a perimeter of the optical film in a first plane so that the secured portions do not move relative to one another; and stretching the optical film by displacing a portion of the optical film along at least a first direction perpendicular to the first plane such that one of a radial and circumferential stretching of the optical film is substantially constant from a center to the perimeter of the optical film, and the other one of the radial and circumferential stretching of the optical film substantially changes from the center to the perimeter of the optical film. The optical film is a reflective polarizer including a plurality of alternating polymeric layers.
Image display apparatus
An image display apparatus (100) according to the present invention includes a display unit and a projection unit. The display unit includes a curved first screen (43) and a curved second screen (44), the first screen extending along a predetermined axis (1), the curved screen having transparency and being disposed on a front side of the first screen (43) with a gap interposed therebetween. The projection unit includes an emitter (11) that emits light for displaying a first image from a region on the predetermined axis (1) and a second image superimposed on the first image, projects the first image onto the first screen (43), and projects the second image onto the second screen (44).

The curved lens includes a plurality of sub lenses around an optical center of the curved lens and connected; each of the plurality of sub lenses includes a first and second curved surface opposite to each other; a plurality of first curved surfaces are connected to form a light exit surface of the curved lens, and a plurality of the second curved surfaces are connected to form a light incident surface of the curved lens, and the light exit surface is closer to the optical center of the curved lens compared with the light incident surface; the light incident surface as a whole is a convex surface, and the light exit surface as a whole is a concave surface; the plurality of the first curved surfaces and the plurality of the second curved surfaces are free-form curved surfaces.

A vehicle (10) for a driver (14) of the vehicle (10) and a display device (16) are provided. The display device (16) includes a projection surface (18) extending in the horizontal and vertical direction and a projector (20) that is configured so as to project a projection (24) onto the projection surface (18). The projection surface (18) is curved in the horizontal direction and surrounds the driver (14) in the horizontal direction by at least one hundred degrees. A method for displaying a projection (24) on a projection surface (18) for a driver (14) of a vehicle (10) is also provided. The method includes: d) determining a viewing direction and/or head orientation (26) of the driver (14) towards the projection surface (18); and f) projecting the projection (24) onto the projection surface (18) in the viewing direction and/or head orientation (26) of the driver (14).

A projection arrangement for a head-up display, including a composite pane, including an outer pane and an inner pane, which are joined to one another via a thermoplastic intermediate layer, having an upper edge and a lower edge and an HUD region; an electrically conductive coating on the surface of the outer pane or the inner pane facing the intermediate layer or provided within the intermediate layer; and a projector that is aimed at the HUD region; wherein the light of the projector has at least one p-polarised portion and wherein the electrically conductive coating has, in the spectral range from 400 nm to 650 nm, only a single local reflection maximum for p-polarised light, with this maximum in the range from 510 nm to 550 nm.
