POLARIZATION OPTIMIZED HEADS-UP DISPLAY
An optical system includes a display including an active display region having a maximum lateral dimension D and configured to emit an image for viewing by an eye of a viewer, the active display region including a display center and a predetermined region including the display center, the predetermined region having a largest lateral dimension d, such that d/D≤0.25; a windshield of a vehicle; and an optical film configured to receive the image emitted by the active display region and reflect or transmit at least a portion of the received image toward the windshield, the windshield configured to receive the image reflected or transmitted by the optical film and reflect at least a portion of the received image toward the eye, such that for at least one first location within the predetermined area of the active display region, the emitted image includes a first emitted image cone emitted from the first location, the first emitted image cone including a first emitted central image ray emitted from the first location, wherein the optical film is so oriented as to cause the first emitted central image ray to be substantially polarized in a plane of incidence when incident on the windshield.
PROJECTION SYSTEM FOR SMART RING VISUAL OUTPUT
A system for displaying information indicative of driving conditions, to a driver, using a smart ring are disclosed. An exemplary system includes a smart ring with a ring band having a plurality of surfaces including an inner surface, an outer surface, a first side surface, and a second side surface. The system further includes a processor, configured to obtain data from a communication module within the ring band, or from one or more sensors disposed within the ring band. The obtained data are representative of information indicative of one or more driving conditions to be displayed to the driver. The smart ring also includes a projector module display disposed on at least one of the plurality of surfaces, and configured to present information indicative of the one or more driving conditions.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A HEAD-UP DISPLAY IN A VEHICLE
Systems and methods for controlling a head-up display (HUD) in a vehicle are disclosed herein. One embodiment deactivates the HUD in response to a command from a driver of the vehicle; assigns a level of urgency to an item of information associated with a current vehicular context; and activates the HUD to display the item of information to the driver, when the level of urgency exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Swim AR goggles
Swimming goggles have a left-eye covering and a right-eye covering, each having a corresponding transparent window that defines a field of view and each further having a seal extending between the transparent window and the swimmer's face and formed to exclude water. A near-eye display is in signal communication with an image processor and forms a virtual image in the left- or right-eye field of view.
System and apparatus for augmented reality animal-watching
An Augmented Reality (AR) device or gear or glasses or sunglasses, includes one or more imagers to capture images of an area-of-interest of an environment. A processor performs computer vision analysis or image recognition analysis, and detects one or more animals in the environment; and estimates their relative location, and further classifies them or estimates their properties. The detected and estimated information is then conveyed to the user, as an Augmented Reality layer of information that is super-imposed on the real-life field-of-view that is observed by the user. Optionally, additional indicators are used to convey the information, such as audio output, haptic output, or the like.
Automated object selection and placement for augmented reality
A system to facilitate AR processing includes receiving captured media from a user device and context information relating to media that is being delivered to a receiving device. The system may use the media being delivered with the captured media to generate one or more virtual objects. The user device may augment a user's view of reality that is reflected in the captured media by overlaying or otherwise incorporating the virtual objects in the user's view of reality.
Image display device
An image display device includes a display unit which displays a first image and a second image, and a projection optical system which directs light of the first image and light of the second image toward a windshield. The display unit displays the first image and the second image in different display areas on the same plane. The projection optical system sets an image point of the light of the first image and an image point of the light of the second image, so that a first virtual image and a second virtual image are formed at positions having different distances from a viewing point within a visible area.
Apparatus and Method to Support Monitoring of a Patient
A monitoring system for monitoring a patient in an examination space of an imaging apparatus may include an interface, a computing device and an output device. The interface can receive process data of the imaging examination and transfer it to the computing device. The computing device may process the process data and control the output device to provide an item of information of the imaging examination based on the process data. The monitoring system enables visual monitoring of the patient and of the item of information using the output device.
Viewing optic with direct active reticle targeting
The disclosure relates to a viewing optic. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system for generating images that are projected into the first focal plane of an optical system.
Display device for a vehicle
There is provided a display device for a vehicle, the display device including: a display unit that is visible to an occupant of a vehicle; a memory; and a processor that is connected to the memory, the processor changing a content image displayed on the display unit so as to be displayed in the same direction as a direction in which a travel path of the vehicle curves.
