Head up display for integrating views of conformally mapped symbols and a fixed image source
A method or system can be used with an aircraft or other vehicle. The system can include or the method can use a head up display for integrating views of conformally mapped symbols and a first image from at least one image source in an environment. The head up display includes a computer and a combiner configured to provide a second image in response to the computer. The second image includes the conformally mapped symbols and a window for viewing the first image on the image source.
Display apparatus for motor vehicle
A display apparatus for motor vehicle capable of enhancing stereoscopic image effect utilizing a simple configuration. Since the front part includes a tilt approaching to an upward side as the front part proceeding to the front side of the motor vehicle, and a stereoscopic image is displayed on a display surface, the image is made visible in combination with the front part when the ring member is positioned at the tilt position. The image is expressed as having a visual depth by not only a mere image but also by the tilted front part so that the stereoscopic image effect is enhanced due to the combination of the front part and the stereoscopic image having a visual depth. Further, the configuration is simplified since the stereoscopic image effect can be enhanced without a need of altering the direction of the display surface.
DISPLAY SYSTEM
To display easily-seen display information on any display area regardless of an installation location, a display system (1) includes: a projection device (10) that switches and projects emitted light from a spatial light modulator element onto a plurality of display areas; and a control device (20) that controls the projection device to switch a projection direction of projected light from the projection device (10), based on a display condition of display information to be displayed on the display areas. The projection device (10) has: a reflecting mirror that is put in and out of a light path of emitted light from the spatial light modulator element; and a light path switching means that switches the projection direction of projected light by putting the reflecting mirror in and out of the light path of emitted light from the spatial light modulator element in response to control of the control device.
Single LCD for cluster and HUD
A combined head up display and instrument cluster arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a substantially planar liquid crystal display having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. A first area of the liquid crystal display is viewable as an instrument cluster display by a human viewer who is disposed closer to the first side than to the second side. A backlight is disposed closer to the first side than to the second side. The backlight is aligned with a second area of the liquid crystal display such that a light field is emitted by the backlight through the second area. Head up display optics are positioned to receive the light field.
PRO GAMING AR VISOR AND METHOD FOR PARSING CONTEXT SPECIFIC HUD CONTENT FROM A VIDEO STREAM
A wearable or mountable visor or display apparatus capable of presenting augmented reality (AR) content. The primary intent of the AR visor is to parse and selectively display desired heads up display (HUD) content from a video stream or video game such as a map, timer or clock, speedometer/tachometer, instrumentation panels, or similar context-sensitive information relevant to a video game or stream. The AR visor allows a user to configure and display various content on one or more designated sections of the AR visor/display.
Display apparatus having moving mechanism
A display apparatus includes: a housing including a top plate having an opening and two opposed side plate units; a display member capable of moving through the opening; a shutter configured to open and close the opening; and a moving mechanism provided on at least one of the two side plate units, the moving mechanism including a first slide member and a second slide member each moving along the at least one side plate unit and a transmission member transmitting an amount of movement of the first slide member to the second slide member while increasing the amount of movement, wherein the shutter moves according to movement of the second slide member.
Stereoscopic augmented reality head-worn display with indicator conforming to a real-world object
Head-worn displays are disclosed. A head-worn display may include at least one processor configured to determine a location of the head-worn display with respect to a real-world environment and to generate a conformal indicator conforming to an element in the real-world environment. The at least one processor may also be configured to generate a non-conformal indicator unconstrained by elements in the real-world environment. The head-worn display may include at least one display in communication with the at least one processor. The at least one display may be configured to display the conformal indicator and/or the non-conformal indicator generated by the at least one processor to a user.
Light control system
The present disclosure is directed to a system for controlling light. The system may include a display. The display may include a light source configured to emit light having a specified spectral output. The system may also include a light filter applied to a substrate separate from the display. The light filter is configured to block light within the specified spectral output. The light filter is further configured to allow light outside of the specified spectral output to pass through the light filter.
Method and Apparatus for Generating Input Images for Holographic Waveguide Displays
An image generation device comprises: a spatial light modulator; a source of light; a beam deflector; an illumination waveguide and an image transport waveguide, each waveguide containing at least one switchable grating; and a coupler for directing scanned light into a first set of TIR paths in said illumination waveguide. A switchable grating in the illumination waveguide diffracts light onto said SLM, a switchable grating in said image transport waveguide diffracting image-modulated from the SLM into a waveguide path.
OPTICAL IMAGING DEVICE WITH BACKUP DISPLAY
The present invention relates to an optical imaging device with backup display, which comprises a main display module and a backup display module. The main display module projects a first image to be a virtual image. The backup display module displays a second image, which is a real image. By using the backup display module to backup for displaying car status information, when the main display module is fails, the backup display module still can display the second image for displaying the car status information. Then the user can confirm the car status.
