20190113749 · 2019-04-18 · ·

Methods and apparatus providing a head-mounted display to be worn by the user and presenting a video to the user through the head-mounted display; measuring outside world information via an outside world measurement section of the head mounted display; detecting, via a notification information detection section, whether or not the information measured by the outside world measurement section contains any notification information to be notified to the user, including that the notification information detection section detects at least one reference position, which is set by the user as notification information; and notifying the user, via a notification section, when the notification information detection section detects notification information by way of displaying a video of the at least one reference position to the user in the head-mounted display.

Sensory feedback systems and methods for guiding users in virtual reality environments

Sensory feedback (chaperoning) systems and methods for guiding users in virtual/augmented reality environments such as walk-around virtual reality environments are described. Exemplary implementations assist with preventing collisions with objects in the physical operating space in which the user acts, among other potential functions and/or uses.

Transitioning Displays In Autonomous Vehicles To Increase Driver Attentiveness

Various embodiments include systems and methods of displaying visual infotainment information to a vehicle operator. A processor of an infotainment system may provide visual infotainment information to be displayed on a first display when the infotainment system is operating in a first display mode. The processor may determine whether a change in state or operation of the vehicle is within a predetermined threshold variance while the infotainment system is operating in the first display mode. The processor may transition from the first display mode to a second display mode in response to determining that the change in state or operation of the vehicle is within the predetermined threshold variance and provide the visual infotainment information to be displayed on a second display when the infotainment system is operating in the second display mode in a manner configured to guide the operator's attention to an external environment of the vehicle.

Method and apparatus for providing information

A method and apparatus for providing information are disclosed. An information providing apparatus includes an output unit configured to output information and a control unit configured to generate first information and second information according to an output mode that is any one mode of a normal mode, a safe mode, or an emotional mode. The output unit controls the first information to be output to a user through the output unit and controls the second information to be output to an outside of the information providing apparatus.

Improved Visualization with an AR HUD

The disclosure relates to a contact-analogous head-up display, in particular an augmented reality head-up display, which places information in direct contact with the environment. Contrary to conventional head-up displays, the items of information appear as part of the environment. The subject matter of the disclosure relates to a dynamic improvement of the visibility of concealed AR elements in situations in which several elements are displayed in parallel.

ALTERING DISPLAY OF VIRTUAL CONTENT BASED ON MOBILITY STATUS CHANGE
20240231430 · 2024-07-11 · ·

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for coordinating virtual content display with mobility status are disclosed. A non-transitory computer readable medium contains instructions that cause a processor to: access rules associating user mobility statuses with display modes; receive first sensor data reflecting a mobility status of a user during a first time period; based on the first sensor data, determine that during the first time period the user is associated with a first mobility status; implement a first accessed rule to generate a first display of virtual content; receive second sensor data reflecting the mobility status of the user during a second time period; based on the second sensor data, determine that during the second time period the user is associated with a second mobility status; and implement a second accessed rule to generate a second display of the virtual content different from the first display.

A motorcycle helmet includes electronic components operating within the motorcycle helmet. At least a portion of the electronic components is embedded within an outer shell of the helmet or an inner shell of the helmet. The plurality of electronic components comprise one or more internally mounted sensors for detecting objects present in a blind spot of a wearer. A software program may execute within the electronic components, which receiving processed output based on data from the one or more internally mounted sensors. An output mechanism integrated into the motorcycle helmet and electronically coupled to the electronic components may present the processed output to a wearer of the helmet.
