An embedded reflective eyepiece includes an optical lens, a beam splitter and reflective coating at a convex surface of the optical lens and a circular polarizing reflector surface having a concave surface of the optical lens. A method for forming a magnified image includes emitting circularly polarized light from a display source, at least partially refracting the circularly polarized light across a convex surface of a beam splitter reflective coating across a lens, at least partially reflecting refracted circularly polarized light internally off a concave circularly polarized reflector surface of the lens, and at least partially reflecting a reflected circularly polarized light internally off of the beam splitter reflective coating at the convex surface.
MEASUREMENT APPARATUS FOR SURFACE SHAPE OF HIGHLY REFLECTIVE MIRROR
A measurement apparatus for a surface shape of a highly reflective mirror, comprising a light source, a beam splitting sheet, a collimator, a standard mirror plated with the beam splitter sheet, and a CCD imaging system. A light beam emitted by the light source passes through the beam splitting sheet, and is converted by the collimator into parallel light lo which passes through the standard mirror, a part of the light is reflected and returned by the standard mirror, and the other part of light passes through the standard mirror, and then reaches the surface of a measured mirror and is reflected back by the surface; the light IR reflected back by the standard mirror and the light It reflected back by the surface, pass through the standard mirror, forming interfering light that is returned to and reflected by the beam splitting sheet before entering the CCD imaging system.
METHODS OF FORMING PARTICULATE FILMS AND FILMS AND DEVICES MADE THEREFROM
A method of depositing a film comprising a monolayer of particles. The method includes providing a dispersion comprising particles and at least two liquids and depositing drops of the dispersion onto a substrate and evaporating the at least two liquids resulting in a film of a monolayer of the particles. One embodiment of the method includes a coating on the outer surface of particles such that the coating makes the particles substantially non-dispersible, substantially non-soluble and substantially non-suspendable in one of the liquids. A particulate film containing at least one layer of particles, wherein the at least one layer is substantially made of particles of a chemical composition and has uniform thickness. Optical devices containing a particulate film containing at least one layer of particles, wherein the at least one layer is substantially made of particles of a chemical composition and has uniform thickness.
