A pulsed laser printing module for a contact lens, comprises a steel mold, a pulsed laser device and a forming case. The steel mold is configured for transferring pigment. The pulsed laser device is configured for transmitting ultrashort laser pulses having pulse time widths less than 10.sup.9 seconds. The ultrashort laser pulses etch the surface of the steel mold to remove a coating of the steel mold to form an etched layer. The forming case has a lower member and an upper member. The lower member is a concavity, and an inner surface of the lower member is provided with a lower curved surface. The upper member is provided with a protrusion corresponding to the lower member, and an outer surface of the protrusion is provided with an upper curved surface corresponding to the lower curved surface. The protrusion is capable of being placed in a concavity of the lower member to form a gap between the lower curved surface and the upper curved surface.

A light-emitting wearable device is provided. The device includes a thin profile light-emitting element having a top and a bottom. The light-emitting element has a first thin layer light emitter and a second thin layer power source electrically coupled to the light emitter. The device further includes a first covering layer over the top of the light-emitting element and a second covering layer over the bottom of the light-emitting element. The light-emitting wearable may be configured as a lens to be worn on the eye or as a fingernail cover.

IRIS-LENS DIAPHRAGM

There is discloses an iris-lens diaphragm made of elastic material in the form of a colored ring. The iris0lens diaphragm comprises peripheral arc-shaped and open-ended support elements for one-point contact that are capable of bending in the plane of the colored ring, wherein a thickness of support elements exceeds a thickness of the colored ring.

Compositions and methods for reversibly dyeing soft contact lenses and medical examination therefrom
10246819 · 2019-04-02 ·

A composition, method and kit for producing reversibly dyed soft contact lenses is disclosed. The contact lenses are submerged in saline solution and a dye is added to the saline solution, either directly or by means of a strip that has been impregnated with the dye. After a period of time, the lens absorbs the dye and can be removed from the solution and placed on the eye. Once the lens is illuminated with ultraviolet light, it will glow or fluoresce. An eye having the soft contact lens applied to a cornea thereof is examined under a luminescent radiation stored in the soft contact lens. The dyeing method does not utilize heat and thus is reversible. Soaking the lens in additional saline solution for a period of time will cause the dye to return to its non-dyed state. A stabilizing compound and a method of stabilization are also disclosed herein.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRINTING ON A CONTACT LENS
20240248327 · 2024-07-25 ·

One embodiment of a contact lens includes a lens body configured to fit directly on the surface of the eye and legible characters positioned on the lens body. Another embodiment of a contact lens comprises a lens body including polymeric material and a lens enhancing material (e.g., ink, silicone material, medicament material, and the like) encapsulated in the polymeric material. The lens enhancing material can be in the form of isolated sections distributed in the surrounding polymeric material. Methods of making contact lenses include forming a first lens layer including a first surface, forming a pattern on the first surface, and forming a second lens layer over the pattern.

Eyewear dynamically adjusts viewing effects to match the wearer, the object or scene being viewed (luminance, color prominence, glare, visual blur/noise), other conditions: sensory parameters (gaze direction, focal length, eye gestures, other eye activity, other senses, wearer inputs), medical conditions, wearer location, environmental parameters, wearer activity, use by the wearer, the wearer's field of view. The eyewear can adjust visual features presented to the wearer, such as changes in refraction, polarization/shading, color, prismatic angles/functions, 3D displays. Eyewear can be tailored to form factor: glasses, contacts, RID, IOL, facemask/helmet, vehicles, windows, screens, scopes, AR/VR devices, nerve sensors, external devices. Eyewear can adjust refraction, polarization/shading, color filtering/injection, false coloring, color change; prismatic angles/functions. Eyewear can respond to wearer activity: police, military, firefighter, emergency responder, search and rescue, vehicle operation, sporting/theme-park events, viewing advertising/storefronts, conversation. Hybrid optimization of eyewear can be personalized to users.

A photochromic composition for opthalmic lens which colors or darkens in certain light includes a photochromic material and a binding polymer. The photochromic material includes cyclodextrins and photochromic molecules entrapped in cavities of the cyclodextrins. A single photochromic ophthalmic lens with, as a property, successively darker concentric rings under the certain light and a method for manufacturing the lens are also provided.

Method for making colored film, colored film, colored material, and ophthalmic lens

A method for making a colored film includes following steps of providing a mixture comprising a hydrophilic monomer, a functionalized vinylic monomer, a clay, a cross-linking agent, and an initiator; mixing a pigment and a solvent with the mixture to form a colored material; and placing the colored material into a mold, and exposing the colored material to ultraviolet radiation or heating the colored material, to cause the hydrophilic monomer, the functionalized vinylic monomer, the cross-linking agent, and the initiator in the colored material to undergo a polymerization reaction to form a cross-linking network, and the clay in the colored material to be dispersed in the cross-linking network, thereby forming the colored film. The disclosure also provides a colored film made by above method, a colored material making for the colored film, and an ophthalmic lens.
