The invention includes an apparatus and methods for the prescription, selection, supply and fitting of sets, stocks, or kits of pairs of myopia management spectacles, or spectacle fronts, attachable impermanent auxiliary optical films, or mini optical elements, used in conjunction with standard single vision spectacles, said auxiliary optical films, or optical elements possess one or more meridionally and azimuthally variant power distributions resulting in a delta power and said power distributions are devoid of mirror symmetry, wherein the apparatus and methods are configured to provide a conoid of partial blur, or at least one regional conoid of partial blur, at the retina of the myopic eye to decelerate, ameliorate, control, inhibit, or reduce the rate of myopia progression over time, wherein the method is a prescribed care regimen providing temporal and spatial variation to the directional optical cues or stop signals.
DETERMINING A PROGRESSIVE LENS OPTICAL DESIGN
Apparatus and methods are described, including providing a temporary progressive lens (20) that is configured for a subject's temporary use, based upon an initial progressive-lens optical design. The lens is composed of a base lens (22) and an attached additional and removable progressive lens part (24) for test purposes. Data that are indicative of suitability of the optical design for activities that are performed by the subject are received, the data being generated during use of the temporary progressive lens by the subject. Based upon the received data, the optical design for a progressive lens for the subject is optimised, and the optimised optical design in output.
Spectacle lenses and methods for producing the same
A lens, system for designing, computer program for designing and a method for designing, with a computer, a progressive addition lens including a distance vision region, a near vision region, and an intermediate vision region, wherein a power gradually changes between the distance vision region and the near vision region, and wherein the progressive addition lens is based on prescription data, the method including: determining a transmission astigmatic performance parameter corresponding to a sum of a prescribed astigmatism included in the prescription data and of a predetermined amount of extra astigmatism; determining lens surface data corresponding to the determined transmission performance parameter.
Means for controlling the progression of myopia
A contact lens for use in controlling the progression of myopia has a central optical zone approximating the normal diameter of the pupil of the eye that gives clear central vision at distance for the wearer. An annular peripheral optical zone that is substantially outside the diameter of the pupil is formed around the central optical zone with greater refractive power than that of the central zone so that oblique rays entering the eye through the peripheral optical zone will be brought to focus at a focal plane that is substantially on or anterior to the peripheral region of the retina.
SPECTACLE LENS
The present invention provides an eyeglass lens and its related techniques, the eyeglass lens including: a base region that causes a light flux that has entered from an object-side face to exit from an eyeball-side face, and to enter an eye and converge at a position A on a retina; and a plurality of defocus regions that are in contact with the base region, wherein the defocus regions each include a first portion and a second portion, a refractive power of the first portion is within ±0.12 D of the refractive power of the base region, and a light flux that passes through the second portion of the defocus region is incident on the position A as diverging light.
OPHTHALMIC LENSES FOR MYOPIA REDUCTION
Systems and methods for creating ophthalmic lens creation instructions are disclosed. The method includes obtaining an ophthalmic prescription and preparing lens creation instructions based on the ophthalmic prescription including determining a baseline lens design. The lens creation instructions are augmented to reduce myopia. The augmented lens creation instructions are created by determining a central region and a peripheral region in the baseline lens, computing a distortion pattern of bumps randomly located in the peripheral region of the lens such that the bumps have random sizes and random strengths, wherein the location, size and strength are created using probability distribution functions, and then computing a final back surface of the lens including incorporating the distortion pattern of bumps into the baseline lens. A lens created by this method is described herein. The method may be implemented on a computing device.
Method for processing an unfinished optical lens member
A method implemented by computer for processing an unfinished optical lens member for manufacturing an optical lens, the unfinished optical lens member having an unfinished surface and an aspherical finished surface having a first reference system with a first reference point, and the optical lens to be manufactured including first and second surfaces, the first surface including a second reference system with a second reference point and included in the aspherical finished surface of the lens member, the method including: providing an unfinished optical lens member data; providing an optical function; providing a reference point position; providing an optical lens parameter; determining a reference system; determining a first surface dataset; and determining a second surface dataset.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING AN OPTICAL SYSTEM INTENDED TO EQUIP A PERSON ON THE BASIS OF THE ADAPTABILITY OF THE PERSON TO A VISUAL AND/OR PROPRIOCEPTIVE MODIFICATION OF HIS/HER ENVIRONMENT
A method for determining an optical system intended to equip a person on the basis of the adaptability of the person to a visual and/or proprioceptive modification of his environment, the method including a person visual behaviour parameter providing, during which a person visual behaviour parameter indicative of the visual behaviour of the person relative to a given state of the environment is provided; a reference value providing, during which a first value of the person visual behaviour parameter corresponding to a reference state of the environment is provided; a visual and/or proprioceptive modification providing, during which a visual and/or proprioceptive modification of the reference state of the environment is provided so as to define a modified state of the environment; and determining, during which an optical parameter of the optical system is determined based on the first value of the person visual behaviour parameter and on a second value of the person visual behaviour parameter associated with the modified state of the environment.
