Head-mounted illuminator with capacitive proximity control
11013573 · 2021-05-25 · ·

Head-mounted accessories for surgeons and medical/dental practitioners are equipped with no-touch controls including, in different embodiments, passive and active infrared detection, voice operation, and capacitive proximity control. Compared to infrared, capacitive proximity control may be more omni-directional, whereas IR, particularly active IR, tends to be more effective in a cone of operation. Compared to voice activation, capacitive sensing is less expensive and less prone to false activation based upon ambient noise or other voices. The invention may be used to control other medical/dental accessories such as a head-mounted video camera, in which case the controller is further operative to at least turn the video camera ON or OFF. More preferably, a controller is additionally operative to control the focus or zoom of the video camera in accordance with touch-free commands.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL MOUNTING ASSEMBLY FOR WRAP-AROUND EYEGLASS FRAMES
20210124191 · 2021-04-29 · ·

An optical mounting assembly is adapted for use with wrap-around type eyeglass frames of the type that utilize a single sheet of curved lens material to form right and left lenses which may carry through-the-lens or TTL oculars or loupes. The optical mounting assembly may attach to an existing pair of wrap-around type eyeglass frames, or the invention may include the frames. The bridge portion of the frames and the lens material are sandwiched between front and rear components, with a nose pad component coupled to the rear component. The nose pad component may comprise a pair of bendable wire arms covered with, or terminating in, cushioning material. An illuminator or video camera may couple to the front component. The rear component may be adapted to receive an optical accessory such as a light-blocking or light-admitting filter material.

COMFORT FIT SLIP-RESISTANT EYEWEAR SYSTEM

An anti-slip eyewear system comprising a nosepiece configured to couple to a bridge of an eyewear frame, the nosepiece comprising a core comprised of a first material and an outer layer at least partially surrounding or overlapping the core and comprised of a second material, the second material having a lower durometer than the first material, wherein the second material creates a plurality of Schallamach waves on an outer surface of the nosepiece when the outer layer of the nosepiece is in contact with at least a portion of a face of a user. The first material may have a durometer greater than about Shore 40A on the Shore A hardness scale and the second material may have a durometer less than about Shore 40A on the Shore A hardness scale.

EYEWEAR SYSTEM HAVING AN ADJUSTABLE DECLINATION ANGLE

An eyewear system comprising an eyewear frame comprising a first side bow component and a second side bow component, an auxiliary frame comprising an auxiliary top bar, an auxiliary first side bow component and an auxiliary second side bar component, the auxiliary first side bow component and the auxiliary second side bow component pivotally coupled to the first side bow component and the second side bow component, respectively. The system further comprises a declination angle adjuster positioned proximal a bridge of the eyewear frame, the declination angle adjuster comprising a rotatable member therein, and a vertical extension member extending from the eyewear frame and at least partially into the declination angle adjuster, the vertical extension member configured to engage the rotatable member within the declination angle adjuster.

3D spectacle lens and method for driving the same, and 3D glasses and method for driving the same

The present disclosure provides a 3D spectacle lens and a method for driving the same, and a 3D glasses and a method for driving the same. The 3D spectacle lens includes: a first substrate and a second substrate arranged opposite to each other; and a guest-host liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate, the guest-host liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules and dichroic dye molecules.

ROTATIONAL ALIGNMENT OF INTERCHANGEABLE LOUPES

Rotational alignment apparatus and methods for interchangeable loupe telescope(s) are provided. Some embodiments include an indexing ring including a projection. The ring is fixed to the telescope upon rotational alignment of the telescope. The alignment may involve use of a laser and test fixture. The projection mates with a corresponding indexing notch of a loupe anchoring device. Loupes may comprise one or more anchor assemblies, and one or more interchangeable telescope assemblies. The interchangeable telescope assemblies are held to the anchor assemblies by magnetic attraction between one or more magnets and/or one or more magnetic components affixed to corresponding surfaces of the corresponding assemblies. Mating of the projection with the notch ensures appropriate relative rotational alignment of the assemblies.

Cordless LED headlight and control thereof

A wireless headlight assembly for attachment to an eyewear frame is disclosed. The wireless headlight assembly comprises a battery pod containing a battery connected to a lower housing element, which controls the application of power from the battery to an attached headlight assembly containing a headlight.
