LASER EXPOSURE HEAD WITH REDUCED LEAKAGE
20200033695 · 2020-01-30 ·

A laser exposure system includes an electrically-controlled diffraction grating which can be controlled to be in a first state where the incident light beam is undiffracted and a second state where the incident light beam is diffracted into a plurality of light beams including a zero-order light beam and first and second diffracted light beams. An aperture structure which passes the first and second diffracted light beams while blocking the zero-order light beam. A polarization rotator rotates a polarization state of the second diffracted light, and a polarization beam combiner combines the first diffracted light beam and the polarization-rotated second diffracted light beam onto a common path forming a combined light beam. An optical element focuses the combined light beam onto an imaging medium. A controller controls the state of the electrically-controlled diffraction grating in accordance with pixel data to form a printed image.

Diffractive Waveguide Providing Structured Illumination for Object Detection

A projection display device comprising a light source and an SBG device having a multiplicity of separate SBG elements sandwiched between transparent substrates to which transparent electrodes have been applied. The substrates function as a light guide. A least one transparent electrode comprises a plurality of independently switchable transparent electrode elements, each electrode element substantially overlaying a unique SBG element. Each SBG element encodes image information to be projected on an image surface. Light coupled into the light guide undergoes total internal reflection until diffracted out to the light guide by an activated SBG element. The SBG diffracts light out of the light guide to form an image region on an image surface when subjected to an applied voltage via said transparent electrodes.

Display panel and driving and manufacturing method thereof, and display device

A display panel and a driving method and manufacturing method thereof, and a display device. The display panel includes a base substrate, a dielectric layer provided on the base substrate, and a refractive index variable layer provided on a side of the dielectric layer away from the base substrate; the refractive index variable layer is in contact with the dielectric layer and has a contact surface with the dielectric layer, and the refractive index variable layer can change the refractive index so that the light entering from the light incident side is totally reflected or transmitted at the contact surface.

The first optical element has: a first liquid crystal element; a first transmissive member formed on the first liquid crystal element and having a light incident surface on which external incident light is incident and a first light-outputting surface through which light reflected by the first liquid crystal element is outputted; and a second transmissive member having a second light-outputting surface through which transmitted light having been transmitted through the first liquid crystal element is outputted. The second optical element has: a second liquid crystal element; and a third transmissive member formed on the second liquid crystal element and joined to the first light-outputting surface.

Photopolymerizable materials and in particular holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal materials and processes for fabricating holographic waveguide devices from such materials are provided. Materials and formulations of photopolymerizable materials incorporate a mixture of LCs and monomer (and other components including: photoinitiator dye, coinitiators, surfactant), which under holographic exposure undergo phase separation to provide a grating in which at least one of the LCs and at least one of the monomers forms a first HPDLC morphology that provides a P polarization response and at least one of the LCs and at least one of the monomers forms a second HPDLC morphology that provides a S polarization response.

Optical component for use in a radiation source module of a projection exposure system

An optical component for coupling out an individual output beam from a collective output beam includes a plurality of radiation-reflecting regions which are grouped in such a way that regions of the same group serve for guiding different partial beams of the individual output beam to the same scanner.

Maximizing brightness in conventional total internal reflection image displays may lead to more applications where they may be used. A refractive index perturbation array may be used to enhance the brightness. Control of the size, spacing and refractive index in an index perturbation array layer may lead controlled diffraction of light and lead to enhanced brightness in total internal reflection image displays.
