Also disclosed is a display method including selecting a laser class for the projection device; calculating a relationship between maximum accessible emission limit and distance, for the selected laser class; and selecting a desired maximum accessible emission limit for an image which is to be projected by the projection device onto said display screen.

Reducing heat generated during projection of visual content

A method, a system, and a computer program product for reducing heat generated during projection of visual content. The method includes determining a temperature of at least one light emitter that projects a visual content based on calibration data. The method further includes determining, by a processor, whether the temperature exceeds a temperature threshold. The method further includes calculating, by the processor, at least one adjustment that reduces a level of heat generated by the at least one light emitter during projection of the visual content. The at least one adjustment overrides at least one portion of the calibration data. The method further includes applying the at least one adjustment to the at least one light emitter and modulating the at least one light emitter to project the visual content in accordance with the at least one adjustment applied to the calibration data.

In a projector, a first fixation section and a second fixation section are formed at two places located at a distance in an optical axis direction in a lens barrel of a projection optical system. A holding member has contact with the first fixation section from an optical axis direction-rear side, and is fixed, an optical component housing of an illumination light guide optical system has contact with the holding member from the optical axis direction-rear side, and is fixed. A light modulating/combining optical system for generating image light has contact with the second fixation section from the optical axis direction-rear side and is fixed. In other words, the light modulating/combining optical system is directly fixed to the lens barrel without the intervention of the holding member for fixing the illumination light guide optical system to the lens barrel.
