Methods and systems of displaying an image free of motion-blur using spinning projectors
According to one implementation, an image display system includes a motor configured to spin a rotor, first and second projectors, a projection screen having a first projection surface on a first side and a second projection surface on a second side opposite the first side, and a controller. The controller causes the motor to spin the rotor that spins the projection screen, the first projector, and the second projector about an axis, displays a first perspective of an image on the first projection surface using the first projector, and concurrently with displaying the first perspective of the image on the first projection surface, displays a second perspective of the image on the second projection surface using the second projector.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS OF VIBRATING A SCREEN
Screen vibration systems are provided that can vibrate theatre screens using acoustical, electromagnetic, or another type of energy while reducing the presence of image artifacts that may otherwise be visible as result of vibrating the screen. In one example of a screen vibration system, the system includes a controller and an electromechanical acoustical actuator with an open baffle. The electromechanical acoustical actuator can be uncoupled from the screen in an operational setup. The controller can provide a signal to the electromechanical acoustical actuator for causing the electromechanical acoustical actuator to output energy to displace air that is (i) in front of the electromechanical acoustical actuator and (ii) between the electromechanical acoustical actuator and the screen. The open baffle can prevent displaced air behind the electromechanical acoustical actuator from affecting the screen
SMART GLOBE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
A smart globe includes: a sphere having a hollow interior; a projection module configured to form a projection image on an inner surface of the sphere; and a processor electrically coupled to the projection module and configured to control the projection module based on received location information, to have the projection module display geographic information corresponding to the location information. User interact with the globe can be realized through physical operations of the smart globe.
Moveably-coupled screen actuators
A speckle damping system for dampening speckle on a projection screen for a projection display system employing coherent or partially coherent light sources (e.g., lasers, LEDs) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a rotatably coupled system is disclosed, comprising: a set of actuators; a set of rotatably coupled mounts, each of said set of rotatably coupled mount capable of mounting at least one said actuator; and wherein said at least one actuator mounted on said rotatably coupled mount is in moveable mechanical communication with said projection screen. In another embodiment, a linearly coupled system is disclosed comprising: a set of actuators; a set of linearly coupled mounts, each of said set of linearly coupled mount capable of mounting at least one said actuator; and wherein said at least one actuator mounted on said linearly coupled mount is in moveable mechanical communication with said projection screen.
Individually angled mirror array system specialty effects
A general purpose image and visual effects display apparatus, with associated methods, which is comprised of an array of independently angled reflective or refractive elements wherein the varying angle pattern of each element across said array is designed to reflect or refract specifically designed light and color sources as well as fortuitously located existing colors, in precisely determined patterns, to make apparent to designated viewing or receiving locations a wide range of complex visual effects.
Methods and systems of vibrating a screen
Screen vibration systems are provided that can vibrate theatre screens while reducing the presence of image artifacts that may otherwise be visible as result of vibrating the screen. In one example of a screen vibration system, the system includes a screen, a permanent magnet mounted to the screen, and a magnetic source positioned with respect to the permanent magnet. The screen is moveable in response to a changing magnetic field from the magnetic source.
Three dimensional display environment and viewing theater
The invention is generally directed to a visual attraction which provides a multi-dimensional audio/video experience in which the three dimensional screens provide for a three dimensional appearing display of two dimensional images in anticipation of and leading up to a reveal event in which the screens rise to expose a view behind the screens. The visual attraction also collects and separates the visitors to the visual attraction by collecting a predetermined grouping of the visitors and processing them through the attraction in a fashion which provides a manageable flow of visitors spaced apart by the length of the show which then passes the group of visitors in the attraction to the remainder of the attraction before collecting and passing through the next group.
Methods and systems of vibrating a screen
A cinema screen can be vibrated by a screen vibrator assembly. A screen vibrator assembly can include a vibrator, a mount bracket, and an isolation device. The vibrator can be positioned to generate a vibration for vibrating a cinema screen. The mount bracket is configured to be coupled to a screen support structure of the cinema screen. The isolation device is configured to couple the vibrator to the mount bracket to isolate the mount bracket from the vibration.
ACTUATABLE SURFACE TECHNIQUES
An actuatable surface system may include a plurality of actuatable assemblies. Each actuatable assembly may include a flexible membrane and a bracket at least partially sealing the flexible membrane within the bracket. A fluid conduit is configured to apply fluid to a rear side of the flexible membrane to cause the flexible membrane to form a raised structure relative to the bracket, which in turn causes a surface layer, e.g., a projection surface, to protrude to accommodate the raised structure. A controller is configured to address each individual actuatable assembly to cause the fluid source to apply the fluid to form the raised structure.
