DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE HAVING ARRANGEMENT OF CHIP HOLDER AND COUPLING TO PROVIDE COMPACT CARTRIDGE
A developing cartridge includes: a casing; a developing roller; a storage medium; a first holder; a second holder; and a coupling. The developing roller is positioned at one end portion of the casing in a first direction. The first holder has an outer surface at which an electrical contact surface of the storage medium is held. The second holder is positioned away from the first holder in a direction crossing the electrical contact surface. The first holder and the second holder are movable relative to the casing and the coupling between a first position and a second position in the first direction. The second position is closer to the developing roller than the first position. A portion of the coupling is positioned between the first holder and the second holder in a case where the first holder and the second holder are positioned at the second position.
ELECTROSTATIC PRINTING
According to one example, there is provided an electrostatic printer. The printer comprises a photoconductor member, an imaging unit to generate a latent electrostatic image on the photoconductor member, an interface to receive a developer unit comprising a colored toner, the developer unit to develop a colored toner image on the photoconductor member using an associated base developer voltage, and a controller. The controller is to obtain image data comprising color separation data representing a variant of the colored toner, to control the imaging unit to generate a latent electrostatic image on the photoconductor member in accordance with the obtained color separation data, to determine a variant developer voltage corresponding to the variant of the colored toner, and to control the developer unit to develop a toner image on the photoconductor member using the variant developer voltage to develop a toner image corresponding to the variant of the colored toner.
Developing sections for digital printing presses, controllers and methods
A developing section for a digital printing press includes a controller to control a development unit such that a configuration of the development unit is to be in a first state or a second state based on a determination by the controller comparing a location of a portion of the surface of a photo imaging member presented to the development unit with a location of a transition between an image portion and a portion of the surface of the photo imaging member not in the image portion.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a support member to which a cartridge is detachably attached and which is movable, a detection portion configured to output a signal and configured such that the signal changes in a case where the support member on which the cartridge is supported is moved from the second position toward the first position, a drive source configured to move the support member, and a controller configured to, in a case where the support member at the second position and not being moved by the drive source is moved toward the first position and the signal changes, cause the drive source to move the support member toward the first position.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a rotary which is rotatable and to which a cartridge is detachably attached, a drive source, a transmission device including a driving member, and a moving device configured to be driven by the driving force transmitted via the transmission device to move the cartridge, the moving device including a driven portion that is provided in the rotary. The driving member includes a force transmission portion configured to engage with the driven portion to transmit the driving force, and an engaging portion configured to engage with the rotary such that movement of the driving member and the rotary with respect to each other in a manner that the force transmission portion and the driven portion separate from each other is restricted.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a body frame, a cartridge movable to an attached position and a retracted position, a moving device configured to move the cartridge, a driving device configured to drive the moving device and to perform a first operation of driving the moving device to move the cartridge from the attached position toward the retracted position and a second operation of driving the moving device to move the cartridge from the retracted position toward the attached position, and a controller configured to control the driving device and to cause the driving device to perform the first operation in a case where the cartridge has not reached the attached position even after elapse of a predetermined time since the driving device is caused to start the second operation.
