An apparatus includes a member, a head including a plurality of emitting units disposed and configured to expose the member, a generation unit configured to generate image data, and output the image data as serial data, a conversion unit configured to receive the serial data, and convert the serial data into parallel data, a drive unit configured to drive the plurality of emitting units based on the parallel data, a reset unit configured to reset the conversion unit to an initial state, an output unit configured to output an enable signal, and a power source configured to supply power to the conversion unit, wherein, after the power source supplies power to the conversion unit, the output unit outputs the enable signal, and wherein, after the output unit outputs the enable signal, the reset unit resets the conversion unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a rotational photosensitive member, an exposure device including a plurality of light emitting elements and a driving unit, an output unit configured to superimpose a clock signal on image data, and output the image data as serial data, a generation unit configured to recover and generate the clock signal superimposed on the image data, a conversion unit configured to receive the serial data and convert the received serial data into parallel data, a lock signal output unit configured to lock the generation unit and output a lock signal in a case where the generation unit generates the clock signal at a predetermined frequency, and a control unit configured to count a number of times the conversion unit has not received the serial data normally during a predetermined period, and unlock the generation unit in a case where the number of times exceeds a predetermined value.

An image forming apparatus includes a scanner unit, a laser shutter including a first engaging portion and to shield a laser light from the scanner unit, an opening/closing member to a main assembly, a link operable in interrelation with the opening/closing member and an interlock switch including a second engaging portion and to turn on or turn off a high voltage power source. The link includes a third engaging portion engaged with the first engaging portion of the laser shutter and a fourth engaging portion engaged with the second engaging portion of the interlock switch. The first engaging portion of the laser shutter is disposed on one side surface of a casing of the scanner unit. The second engaging portion of the interlock switch is disposed at a position opposing the one side surface.

Provided is a light scanning apparatus including a deflecting unit, and a first optical system for guiding a light flux deflected by the deflecting unit to a surface to be scanned. A width of the light flux immediately before entering the deflecting unit is smaller than that of a deflecting surface of the deflecting unit in a main scanning cross section. Only a part of the light flux incident on the deflecting unit reaches a plurality of image heights on the surface via the deflecting surface in the main scanning cross section. A distance between an on-axis image height and an image height closest to the on-axis image height on one side and that between the on-axis image height and an image height closest to the on-axis image height on the other side, with respect to the on-axis image height among the plurality of image heights are appropriately set.

An optical scanning device comprises a component fixer including a one-end fixer that fixes one end of an optical component and an other-end fixer that fixes an other end of the optical component, wherein the one-end fixer includes a one-end positioner that positions an other surface of the one end and at least one one-end side protruding portion that supports the other surface in an inclined state with respect to a horizontal plane, the other-end fixer includes an other-end positioner that positions the other surface of the other end and at least two other-end side protruding portions that support the other surface in an inclined state with respect to the horizontal plane, and an other-end adhesive fixer fixes the other end to the other-end positioner and includes portions at which the other surface is fixed to the at least two other-end side protruding portions.
