An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a drum unit, and a developing unit. The developing unit includes a developing unit projection projecting out from opposite sides of the developing unit along an extension line of a rotation shaft of a developing roller. The apparatus main body includes a first developing projection guide portion configured to guide the developing unit projection from a first start position to a relay position in the apparatus main body, the relay position located closer to the photoconductor drum than the first start position. The drum unit includes a second developing projection guide portion configured to, succeeding from the first developing projection guide portion, guide the developing unit projection from the relay position to a first end position, the first end position located closer to the photoconductor drum than the relay position.

A toner is provided comprising toner particles each comprising: a toner base particle containing an inorganic filler; and an external additive. A relation 0.30≤S2/S1≤0.70 is satisfied, where S1 and S2 respectively represent an area of the toner base particle and a total area of the inorganic filler exposed at a surface of the toner base particle. A standard deviation SD of an area distribution of S2 is less than 0.040 μm.sup.2. A volume average particle diameter of the toner is 4.0 μm or more and less than 6.0 μm. A relation B/A≥0.7 is satisfied, where A and B are respectively average values of Q1/D1 and Q2/D2, where Q1 and D1 are respectively a charge amount and a particle diameter of the toner particle having a size of 4.0 μm or more and less than 6.0 μm, and Q2 and D2 are those of the toner particle having a size of 6.0 μm or more and less than 8.0 μm.

An image forming apparatus includes: a toner supplying portion including a first attachment portion; and a waste toner collecting portion including a second attachment portion. A toner container includes a positioning member and a compatible key. The first attachment portion includes a first engaging portion configured to position the toner container to a first attachment position. The second attachment portion includes a second engaging portion configured to position the toner container to a second attachment position. The first engaging portion and the positioning member are formed in a shape that allows the toner container of a type corresponding to the first attachment portion to be selectively attached to the first attachment portion. The second engaging portion is formed in a shape that allows the positioning member to be engaged with a toner container of any one of a plurality of types.
Supplying refill toner to mounted toner cartridge
Provided is an image forming apparatus which includes an image forming job unit in which a toner cartridge is mounted, a toner refill unit, and a controller. The toner refill unit may be connected to refill toner supplies, and to supply refill toner to the mounted toner cartridge from the refill toner supplies. The controller may control the image forming apparatus, based on an operation of the toner refill unit.

Printed matter is provided which includes a recording medium, a colored layer overlying the recording medium, and an infrared-absorbing-pigment-containing layer overlying the recording medium and underlying the colored layer. The colored layer contains a colorant. The infrared-absorbing-pigment-containing layer contains an infrared absorbing pigment having an average diameter of from 120 to 250 nm in the infrared-absorbing-pigment-containing layer.
Component movement mechanism for an image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus may include a photosensitive member, a developing device including a developing roller, pressing members configured to engage with the developing device and springs configured to urge the pressing members. In some examples, each of the pressing members may be configured to contact and move the developing device between various positions based on the urging of the springs. Additionally or alternatively, various ends of a contact surface of the developing roller configured to contact developer may be disposed relative to an axis line of the developing roller and pressing surfaces of the pressing members.

The process unit is configured to be rotatable relative to the frame about a rotation axis extending in a rotation axis direction of the photosensitive drum between a first position at which the photosensitive drum comes into contact with the transfer member and forms the transfer nip portion and a second position at which the photosensitive drum is separated from the transfer member, and a direction in which the process unit rotates from the first position to the second position is a direction in which the replenishing port of the process unit moves away when the process unit is viewed from the front surface side.
