Wet development device and wet image forming apparatus
The present wet development device includes a developer carrying member, a supply member that supplies a liquid developer to the developer carrying member, a charger that charges the liquid developer on the developer carrying member, a cleaner that removes the liquid developer on the developer carrying member, and a bias applying member that applies alternating bias in contact with the developer carrying member before removing by the cleaner. In a direction in alignment with an axis of rotation of the developer carrying member, a range to which the alternating bias is applied by the bias applying, member is located within a range in which the liquid developer is supplied onto the developer carrying member.
IMAGING AND PRINTING SYSTEM
According to one example, there is provided an imaging system that comprises a housing, a rotatable polygon comprising multiple mirrored facets located in the housing, a laser to generate a laser beam to shine onto the polygon mirror and to reflect onto a target, and wherein, in use, the density of gas within the housing is such that turbulence-related optical distortion within the housing is not greater than a predetermined limit.
DEVELOPMENT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A development device, includes: a developer bearing member; a magnet that is stored in the developer bearing member and has a development pole; and a regulation portion that is disposed to face the developer bearing member for regulating an amount of developer carried on the developer bearing member, wherein the regulation portion is disposed such that, when a magnetic flux density of the development pole in the normal direction with respect to a surface of the developer bearing member is defined as positive, a magnetic flux density becomes positive in the entirety of a region which is upstream of a development region where the developer and an image bearing member are in contact with each other so as to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on the image bearing member and which is downstream of the regulation portion in a rotation direction of the developer bearing member.
Filtering printing fluid
Disclosed is a method to mitigate deterioration of printing fluid in a tank of a printer. The method comprises: draining printing fluid from a tank of a printer, and stopping the draining before the tank is empty, wherein the printing fluid comprises solids suspended in imaging oil, filtering the printing fluid drained from the tank, to separate at least some of the solids from the imaging oil, passing the filtered imaging oil to a reservoir; and then passing imaging oil from the reservoir to the tank. Also disclosed is a printer and a system to perform the method.
LIQUID ELECTRO-PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTING TRANSFER
A liquid electro-photographic printing system, comprising: a binary ink developer assembly, a power supply arrangement, a switching arrangement, and a controller. The binary ink developer assembly includes a plurality of members defining a flow path for a printing fluid containing charged particles, the plurality of members including a first member and a second member that are arranged to generate an electric field therebetween, the first member having a plurality of segments. The power supply arrangement continuously provides a supply of voltages during a print operation, the voltages including a first voltage and a second voltage having a different voltage level from that of the first voltage. The switching arrangement switches the supply of voltages to the segments of the first member on an individual segment basis, to cause charged particles to be attracted to the first member in the individual segment when the first voltage is supplied to the individual segment and to cause charged particles to be repelled from the first member in the individual segment when the second voltage is supplied to the individual segment. The controller to determine timing of when to switch the supply of voltages to the segments.
LIQUID DEVELOPER, LIQUID DEVELOPER CARTRIDGE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
A liquid developer contains: a toner particle; a carrier liquid; and either a polymer compound containing a monomer unit having a polysiloxane chain and a monomer unit having an amino group or a polymer compound containing a monomer unit having a polyester chain containing a cyclic structure and a monomer unit having an amino group.
LIQUID DEVELOPER SUPPLY DEVICE, DEVELOPING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Provided is a liquid developer supply device including a supply roller that rotates and holds liquid developer in a recessed portion formed in an outer circumferential surface to supply the liquid developer to a receiving member, a liquid developer supply unit that supplies liquid developer between a seal member which is in contact with the supply roller on an upstream side in a rotating direction and a regulation member which is in contact with the supply roller on a downstream side, and that forms a liquid developer reservoir, and a supply unit that supplies a cleaning liquid to a contact portion from an upstream side of the contact portion between the supply roller and the seal member, in the rotating direction of the supply roller, such that the cleaning liquid flows down along the seal member due to gravity.
TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A transport device includes a transport unit that transports a sheet-like transport material without holding a one-end-side portion of the transport material in a transport direction and a blowing unit that blows air against a lower surface of the transport material that is transported by the transport unit via multiple blowing holes that open with respect to the lower surface, a wind speed of the blowing unit being higher on two end sides than on a central side in an intersection direction that intersects the transport direction.
WET TYPE DEVELOPING DEVICE
A wet type developing device including a developing roller and an anilox roller, the wet type developing device includes: a dual purpose roller being opposite to the surface of the anilox roller, leaving a gap therebetween, upstream of a region of contact between the surfaces of the anilox roller and the developing roller and being in contact with the surface of the developing roller upstream of the region of contact between the surfaces of the anilox roller and the developing roller and being rotationally driven. A surface part of the dual purpose roller is made of a porous member that has flexibility and elasticity.
Method and apparatus for toner application
Apparatus is described which, in use, applies a thin film of a wetting agent, such as water or a water-based solution, onto paper or other print medium before applying a liquid toner. The wetting agent is applied at a predetermined distance from an image transfer area. The wetting agent acts to promote adhesion of the liquid toner to the print medium. The adhesion of the liquid toner to the print medium is further improved by supplying the wetting agent at a temperature higher than room temperature.
