Acoustic transfude 3-D printing
3-D printers include a transfuse station having at least one roller on one side of an ITB supporting the ITB, and a transmission device on the same side of the ITB. A charge neutralizer is included on a second side of the intermediate transfer surface. The charge neutralizer outputs an opposite charge to neutralize existing static charge on a layer of the build material and the support material on the ITB, before the layer reaches the transfer station. Additionally, the intermediate transfer surface transfers the layer to a platen each time the platen contacts the second side of the intermediate transfer surface, at the transfer station, to successively form layers of the build material and the support material on the platen. Also, the transmission device outputs acoustic waves to cause the layer to move from the intermediate transfer surface to the platen, or to the layers on the platen.
LAYER TRANSFUSION FOR HEAT CAPACITOR BELT FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
An additive manufacturing system comprising a transfer medium configured to receive the layers from a imaging engine, a heater configured to heat the layers on the transfer medium, and a layer transfusion assembly that includes a build platform, and is configured to transfuse the heated layers onto the build platform in a layer-by-layer manner to print a three-dimensional part.
TRANSFER DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A transfer device includes a holding body, a transfer body, and a setting portion. The holding body holds multiple layers including a base layer formed of a toner having a mass larger than a threshold. The toner is electrically charged by a charging device. The transfer body transfers the layers on the holding body to a recording medium. The setting portion sets the charging device so that the charging device electrically charges a toner immediately after being transferred to the holding body with a larger amount of electric charges when the base layer is located uppermost on the holding body, than when the base layer is located other than uppermost on the holding body.
TRANSFER DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A transfer device includes a holding body that holds a toner image and to which a first tension and a second tension, which is smaller than the first tension, are applied, a transfer body that transfers the toner image to a recording medium while transporting the recording medium between the transfer body and the holding body, and a setting portion that sets tension applied to the holding body to the second tension when a mass of a toner of an uppermost toner layer constituting the toner image and disposed on the holding body is equal to or exceeds a threshold.
Image transfer for liquid electro-photographic printing
In one example, a system for transferring an ink image from a photoconductor to a print substrate includes a transfer member having a light absorbing exterior surface to receive a liquid LEP ink image from the photoconductor and to release a molten toner layer to a print substrate and a light source to expose a width of the surface carrying the liquid ink image to a light beam delivering enough power to transform the liquid ink image into a molten toner layer.
IMAGE FORMATION APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMATION METHOD
An image formation apparatus includes: a plurality of image formers each of which is provided for each color and forms a toner image; a plurality of image carriers each of which is provided in accordance with each of the image formers and carries the toner image formed by each image former; a first intermediate transfer body on which multiple toner images are formed; a secondary transferor that secondarily transfers to a sheet, the multiple toner images formed on the first intermediate transfer body; and an adhesion force reducer that is provided between a position where the multiple toner images are formed on the first intermediate transfer body and a secondary transfer position of the secondary transferor and that reduces an adhesion force of toner included in the multiple toner images formed on the first intermediate transfer body.
CHARGING ELEMENTS IN ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTERS
In certain examples, a liquid electrophotographic printer has a charge erasing element and a charging element. The charge erasing element at least partially discharges a charged photo imaging plate and a charged layer of liquid toner and the charging element at least partially recharges the layer of liquid toner and the photo imaging plate.
Transfer belt and image forming apparatus
A transfer belt is configured to transfer a toner image carried on a first main surface of the transfer belt to a recording medium. When the transfer belt is pressed with pressure application three increased at a predetermined pressure application rate and is then pressed with certain pressure application force by using a lower block provided with a hole and an upper block, k2 [m/s] satisfies 6k230, k2 [m/s] being determined by (ab)/{2(t2t1)}, where a [m/s] represents a maximum value of a displacement amount of a measurement region that is a portion of the first main surface corresponding to the hole, b [m] represents a convergence value thereof, t1 [s] represents a time when the maximum value is observed, and t2 [s] represents a time when the displacement amount reaches (a+b)/2 again after the maximum value is observed.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
The image forming apparatus includes the control unit that causes a supply operation that forms a predetermined toner image and supplies toner of the predetermined toner image to a contact portion between the cleaning member and the photosensitive member at a non-image forming time. During at least a period in which toner of the predetermined toner image on the photosensitive member passes through the transfer unit during the supply operation, the control unit causes application of a pass-through voltage that is a voltage having the same polarity as the normal charge polarity of the toner and whose absolute value is less than an electric potential of a portion that is exposed by the exposure device of the photosensitive member, or that is a voltage with a reverse polarity to the normal charge polarity of the toner to be applied from the transfer power supply to the transfer member.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
There is provided an image forming apparatus including a configuration in which a voltage of a polarity opposite to a toner charging polarity is applied. In the image forming apparatus, a guide region of a pre-transfer guide is located on a photosensitive drum side with respect to a common tangent line of a photosensitive drum and a development roller to reduce contamination of the pre-transfer guide and prevent contamination of recording materials.
