Fixing apparatus and image forming apparatus
A fixing apparatus includes an endless first rotary member, a heating element, a second rotary member configured to form a nip portion, and a nip member configured to receive radiant heat from the heating element and heat the nip portion. The nip member includes a main-body portion that contains aluminum or aluminum alloy and a protective layer that includes an oxide film formed on a surface of the main-body portion. The main-body portion contains a heat receiving surface that faces the heating element and receives radiant heat from the heating element, and a rubbed surface that is rubbed against the inner circumferential surface of the first rotary member. The protective layer contains coloring agent that causes an emissivity of the heat receiving surface and the rubbed surface to be higher than an emissivity of a natural color oxide film.
DIGITALLY PRINTED AND PRODUCED HEAT TRANSFER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A process for producing a digital printed heat transfer, the process comprising the steps of: 1) obtaining a substrate having a release layer; 2) applying a primer suitable for electrophotographic toner to the release layer; 3) digitally-printing electrophotographic toner to define a graphic within a defined region of a substrate inclusive of both printed and unprinted areas within that region; 4) digitally printing a tacky viscoelastic binder in registration with the printed areas of the digitally-printed graphic; 5) applying a polyurethane-based powder adhesive to the defined region of said substrate; 6) removing loose powder adhesive that does not adhere to the defined regions of said graphic; and 7) fusing and bonding the adhesive to the digital printed graphic. The binder precisely secures the adhesive powder to the printed graphical areas. The result is then cooled to set the image for use as a heat transfer.
FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A fixing device includes: a heater that heats an image transferred to a recording medium transported, in a contactless manner; a holding unit that holds the recording medium; and a transport unit that transports the recording medium held by the holding unit along a transport path for the recording medium so that the recording medium is opposed to the heater. The transport path extends in an inclination direction inclined with respect to a horizontal direction as viewed in a width direction of the recording medium transported, and the heater is disposed along the transport path.
TRANSFER DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A transfer device includes a transfer drum that rotates in conjunction with a fixing roller, a transfer belt that transfers an image onto a medium while rotating along with the transfer drum in a state where the medium is nipped between the transfer belt and the transfer drum, a pressing member that is disposed in a space enclosed by the transfer belt, and a switching unit that moves the pressing member and switches between a pressed state in which the transfer belt is pressed against the transfer drum and a separated state in which the transfer belt is separated from the transfer drum.
FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A fixing device includes: a holding part that extends in a width direction of a recording medium being transported and that holds the recording medium; a pair of circulating parts that are attached to both ends of the holding part and that circulate to transport the recording medium; and a heating member that heats the recording medium in a non-contact manner and that is located in a space between the pair of circulating parts in the width direction.
TRANSPORT DEVICE, FIXING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A transport device includes a rotating body including a recessed portion on an outer surface, a rotatable heat unit that is in contact with the outer surface of the rotating body and forms an interposition region in which a recording medium is interposed between the heat unit and the rotating body, a transport unit that: (i) includes a hold member capable of holding a portion of the recording medium near a leading edge, (ii) transports the recording medium by moving the hold member in a rotational direction of the rotating body with the hold member contained in the recessed portion, and (iii) causes the hold member to pass through the interposition region, and a controller that controls rotation of the rotating body such that the recessed portion stops at a position upstream or downstream of the interposition region in the rotational direction when an anomaly is detected.
Image forming device with infrared heater and reflective conveying unit
Provided is an image forming device including: a conveying unit configured to convey a recording medium while rotating, in a state of being in contact with a back surface of the recording medium having a front surface on which a toner image is transferred; a main heating unit configured to heat the conveyed recording medium to fix the toner image on the recording medium; and a preheating unit disposed upstream of the main heating unit in a conveying direction of the recording medium and configured to heat, in a non-contact state, the recording medium being conveyed by the conveying unit, a portion of the conveying unit that is in contact with the recording medium being formed of a material that makes a maximum temperature of the portion be equal to or lower than a temperature of the recording medium when the recording medium is heated by the preheating unit.
LINEAR LIGHT-CONCENTRATING DEVICE, FIXING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A linear light-concentrating device includes: a light-emitting body having light-emitting surfaces; a first optical element group; a second optical element group having apertures; and a light-transmitting columnar member. The first optical element group is divided into first optical elements each having a deflecting characteristic that causes an incident beam to be converted to an exit beam deflected in a first direction. The second optical element group is divided into second optical elements. The first optical elements include constituent units each including at least two of the first optical elements, and the deflecting characteristics of the first optical elements are such that a group of exit beams from each of the constituent units is deflected toward a corresponding one of the apertures of the second optical element group. The optical axes of the second optical elements are decentered toward the optical axis of the columnar member.
Fixing device and image forming apparatus
A fixing device includes: an optical system that includes a lens serving as a light guiding path and concentrates laser light for image fixing at an interface between the lens and a recording material; a holding part that holds the lens of the optical system; an operating part that rotates together with the holding part; and a suppressing unit that suppresses propagation of energy of the laser light from the holding part to the operating part.
HEATER AND HEATING APPARATUS
According to an embodiment, a heater includes a heat-resistant insulating substrate, a plurality of heat generating members arrayed on a first surface of the insulating substrate, and a heat radiating body disposed on a surface different from the first surface of the insulating substrate corresponding to gap portions among the plurality of heat generating members and configured to actively or passively radiate stored heat.
