According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a plurality of parts, an acquisition unit, and a control unit. The plurality of parts are used in the image forming process and are replaced according to the degree of use. The acquisition unit acquires, for each of the parts, use-related information that is information indicating the degree of use of the plurality of parts. The control unit determines the replacement timing of the part using the plurality of pieces of use-related information acquired by the acquisition unit and the determination condition regarding the replacement timing of the part.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit for forming an image on a sheet, a reading unit for reading the image on the sheet and an inspection unit for inspecting whether an image formation failure has occurred by comparing the image read by the reading unit with a reference image registered in advance. The image forming apparatus executes the inspection with the inspection unit in a first inspection mode or a second inspection mode. The first inspection mode is a mode in which the inspection unit executes the inspection on all sheets on which the image is formed by the image forming unit. The second inspection mode is a mode in which the inspection unit executes the inspection on some of the sheets on which the image is formed by the image forming unit, and the inspection unit does not execute the inspection on the other sheets.

An image processing apparatus includes a printer to perform printing using an expendable supply for at least one of a plurality of different colors, and a controller to, when receiving, via a user interface, an ordering operation to order a particular type of supplies selected on an order screen, place an order for the particular type of supplies to an information processing device via a communication interface, and store history information on the particular type of supplies into a memory, the history information indicating an order history of the particular type of supplies and containing information generated based on a most recent order date of the particular type of supplies, and in response to a display trigger, read out the history information on the particular type of supplies from the memory, and display the read history information on a display such that the particular type of supplies is identified.

The acquisition unit acquires a print setting about at least one of items including a size of a recording medium used for printing, a type of the recording medium, and a conveyance speed of the recording medium.
