A memory device stores a set of instructions, and at least one processor executes the instructions to, among other things, display a first screen including an item for accepting a designation, by a user, of an insertion position of an insertion sheet. If a designation for insertion of the insertion sheet is made, the item includes an initial value of the insertion position that is determined based on the number of the originals that have been read by the reader. The at least one processor also executes the instructions to display a second screen including information related to the insertion sheet in accordance with receiving the designation by the user via the first screen.

An image forming apparatus that includes a display unit and forms an image on a sheet sets a setting value of adjustment influenced by the characteristics of the image forming apparatus upon forming an image by using a sheet, and then displays a sheet list which displays a list of a plurality of types of sheets on a display unit and reflects the set setting value on at least one sheet selected from the sheet list.

An image forming apparatus and method for providing a user interface (UI) screen are provided. The image forming apparatus may include a processor to execute instructions stored in a memory to display applications miming on different UI platforms supported by different operating systems, together on a home screen based on a main UI platform selected among the different UI platforms, on a UI device.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a receiving section, and a controller. The image forming section forms a plurality of images on a plurality of sheets. The receiving section receives a print job including a layout format indicating a layout of the images on the sheets. The controller controls the image forming section based on the print job. Each of the images indicates an image expressed by image data of a single page. The print job includes an instruction to form the images on the sheets according to a plurality of mutually different layout formats.

In some examples, an apparatus can include a print substance gauge to indicate a quantity of print particles an imaging device is capable of receiving at a particular time, and an authentication mechanism coupled to a locking mechanism, the authentication mechanism includes instructions to: determine a quantity of print particles within a print particle container, and unlock the locking mechanism when the print substance gauge indicates that the imagining device is capable of receiving the quantity of print particles within the print particle container.

An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier unit, an image display control unit, and a forming unit. The image carrier unit holds images formed from a developer. The images include an image intended to be transferred to a medium and an image unintended to be transferred to the medium. The image display control unit causes a display unit to display an image asking whether the image unintended to be transferred is to be formed when a predetermined condition for forming the image unintended to be transferred is satisfied. The forming unit forms the image unintended to be transferred to the medium when a command of forming the image unintended to be transferred to the medium is input to a display on the display unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a control portion that performs a double-side image forming mode after performing a single-side image forming mode on a predetermined number of sheets in a state in which a heating unit is not attached to a sheet storage portion. The control portion sets an arrival timing of a first sheet to a transfer portion in the double-side image forming mode to be later than an arrival timing of a first sheet to the transfer portion in the double-side image forming mode in a case the control portion performs the double-side image forming mode after performing the single-side image forming mode on the predetermined number of sheets in a state in which the heating unit is attached to the sheet storage portion.

A control unit of an image forming device determines a remaining amount threshold value and selects a first mode or a second mode. In the first mode, a sheet feeding unit of the image forming device starts feeding a sheet based on presence/absence of an insertion sheet that is to be inserted by an inserter device immediately prior to a sheet fed from the sheet feeding unit. In the second mode, the sheet feeding unit starts feeding a sheet regardless of presence/absence of an insertion sheet that is to be inserted by the inserter device immediately prior to a sheet fed from the sheet feeding unit.

The information processing apparatus includes a communication unit to communicate with the image forming apparatus, an acquisition unit to acquire, via the communication unit, a remaining day count until a date which is expected as a date that the toner container mounted on the image forming apparatus is replaced, and acquire, via the communication unit, a stock request signal for stock request of a toner container for stocking different from the toner container mounted on the image forming apparatus, and a display to display stock information relating to the toner container for stocking based on the stock request signal, and display the remaining day count.
