A cover is configured to open and close the mounting portion, and a rotation detecting portion is configured to detect rotation of the container mounted at the mounting portion. In addition, a display portion displays information, and a controller controls the display portion so that information on the rotation of the container is displayed at the display portion in a case that when the cover is open, with the rotation detecting portion detecting a predetermined amount of the rotation of the container.

An image forming apparatus on which a developer container is replaceably mounted and which is improved in usability. An image forming unit of the apparatus forms an image using developer contained in a container which is mounted on a mount section. A replenishment mechanism replenishes the developer in the container to the image forming unit, and a cover is opened to mount the container on the mount section and is closed to protect the container mounted on the mount section. If the cover is opened after it is closed in a state in which the container has been removed from the mount section while a predetermined condition related to a remaining amount of the developer in the container is not satisfied, a remount screen is displayed for prompting a user to remount the removed container.

While jobs with confidentiality are in principle kept from showing on a job list, display of the jobs with confidentiality is enabled with a simple operation. In an image forming apparatus, a display control section allows a display section to display a job list showing a plurality of executed jobs, wherein among the jobs, one job containing a predetermined word or character string representing confidentiality is excluded from the job list. There is provided an image forming apparatus that performs control so as to display a first maintenance screen containing a moving image indicating a work content required to resolve a maintenance event on a display unit in a case where occurrence of the maintenance event is detected by an event detection unit configured to detect the occurrence of the maintenance event that has occurred therein. Then, the image forming apparatus performs control so as to display a second maintenance screen containing the moving image indicating the work content required to resolve the maintenance event on the display unit according to a display instruction issued from a user in a case where the occurrence of the maintenance event is not detected by the event detection unit.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a receiving section, and a controller. The image forming section forms a plurality of images on a plurality of sheets. The receiving section receives a print job including a layout format indicating a layout of the images on the sheets. The controller controls the image forming section based on the print job. Each of the images indicates an image expressed by image data of a single page. An image forming apparatus includes the following. An image carrier forms an electrostatic latent image by exposure. A developing apparatus stores a developing agent including toner and which develops the image carrier. A collector collects in the developing apparatus the developing agent scattered from the developing apparatus. An input unit is used by a user to select a screen type relating to a fineness of a halftone image. An adjuster is able to change strength of an electric field between the collector and the image carrier. A hardware processor which controls the adjuster to change the strength of the electric field according to the selected screen type.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a communication unit, a controller, and a transfer unit. The controller is configured to acquire developer information from a container of the developer attached to the own apparatus, to acquire transfer bias information corresponding to the developer information from a storage unit of the server through the communication unit among a plurality of transfer bias information in which sheet information is associated with a bias value relating to a bias used for transfer, to acquire the bias value corresponding to the acquired developer information and sheet information of a sheet used for forming an image from the transfer bias information, and to determine a transfer bias used in a transfer roller based on the acquired bias value. The transfer unit is configured to transfer the developer to the sheet by applying the transfer bias.

An image forming apparatus include an operation mode determination section, a display section, an image determination section and a display controller. The operation mode determination section determines a current operation mode among a plurality of operation modes for executing an image forming processing. The display section displays an image. The image determination section determines an image indicating the operation mode determined by the operation mode determination section. The display controller displays an image determined by the image determination section and information for supporting an operation by a user relating to the image forming processing on the display section.
