The input device includes a plurality of operation buttons for inputting a plurality of requests, corresponding to respective requests, arranged in the vicinity of the display area. Among the plurality of operation buttons, an operation button corresponding to the request for displaying the specific information is provided closest to the display device.

A printing apparatus capable of producing a product having the optimum image layout dependent on a discharge destination even when saddle-stitching is canceled due to input of image data for sheets in excess of a limit of a saddle-stitchable number of sheets. The number of output sheets per one copy is calculated based on image data. When the number of output sheets per one copy exceeds a saddle-stitchable number of sheets, it is selected whether to perform the center folding processing on the sheets on which images are printed without performing the saddle stitching processing thereon or to perform neither the saddle stitching processing nor the center folding processing on the sheets on which images are printed.

An image processing apparatus for decoloring a decolorable toner image formed on one or more sheets, includes an image processing unit comprising a controller and an image heating section, wherein the image heating section is selectively operable at a toner fixing temperature and an image decoloring temperature that is higher than the toner fixing temperature, a communication interface configured to communicate with an external decoloring device, and a user input section. The controller, upon receiving a request to decolor one or more sheets that is made through the user input section, determines which of the image heating section and the external decoloring device will be the first available to decolor the one or more sheets.

An image forming apparatus includes: a print job acquisitor that acquires a print job; a hardware processor that calculates, before starting printing based on the print job, a distance in a paper conveying direction in which the printing is continuously executed, and in a case where the distance is equal to or greater than a predetermined distance, allows a user to select at least one image as a print image out of a first image generated on the basis of the print job and a second image different from the first image; and a printing part that prints the print image selected by the user on paper.

In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises an external connection control section, a determination section and a guidance control section. The external connection control section controls connection with an external device. The determination section determines a type of the external device connected with the image forming apparatus. The guidance control section selects, on the basis of a determination result of the determination section, a message of guidance and displays the message on a display device.

An input apparatus comprises a touch panel, a hardware key, a sensor, and a controller. The sensor detects a signal indicating an operation by a user received by the touch panel. The controller determines whether or not an external noise is contained in the signal. The controller controls operations of the touch panel and the hardware key based on a determination result.

A lever member is displaceably provided to a toner container. A container locking mechanism locks the toner container at a mounting position in a container mounting portion when the lever member is operated from a first operation position to a second operation position in a state where the toner container is located at the mounting position. A locking member is displaceable between a lever locking position and a lever releasing position. A locking control portion controls a drive portion to displace the locking member to the lever locking position when a remaining amount of the toner detected by the remaining amount detection portion is equal to or greater than a predetermined amount, and controls the drive portion to displace the locking member to the lever releasing position when the remaining amount of the toner detected by the remaining amount detection portion is less than the predetermined amount.
