The image forming unit forms an image by using a developer, the cover is opened/closed to replace/cover the mounted container, the detector detects the mounted container in a cover closed/opened state, the controller determines whether a remaining amount of the developer in the container is more than a predetermined amount, and the display unit displays, in a case where the container in which the remaining amount is more than the predetermined amount is removed, a first screen promoting re-mounting of the container, a second screen on closing the cover without detecting the container after displaying the first screen, and a third screen after displaying the second screen in a case where the container is not mounted.

An image forming apparatus includes: a print job acquisitor that acquires a print job; a hardware processor that calculates, before starting printing based on the print job, a distance in a paper conveying direction in which the printing is continuously executed, and in a case where the distance is equal to or greater than a predetermined distance, allows a user to select at least one image as a print image out of a first image generated on the basis of the print job and a second image different from the first image; and a printing part that prints the print image selected by the user on paper.

A display/input device has a display panel, a touch panel portion, and a control portion. The display panel displays a plurality of item selection screens including selection keys for setting items. The control portion makes the display panel display item selection screens of different pages according to user operation, and recognizes a fixed key, which is a selection key on which a fixing operation has been made. An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a gradation adjustment mark adder and a hardware processor. The hardware processor monitors and adjusts a gradation characteristic based on a result of scanning a gradation adjustment mark. The hardware processor makes a determination as to whether to form the gradation adjustment mark overlapping an image area of an image based on image data. If it is determined to form the gradation adjustment mark overlapping the image area, the hardware processor controls the gradation adjustment mark adder to add gradation adjustment mark information to the image data in the image area.

An image forming apparatus which prevents a user from being confused when print data comprised of a plurality of sections is printed by the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus is able to perform test printing of print data for which a plurality of copies are to be printed. Whether or not a plurality of sections are included in selected print data is determined, and when it is determined that a plurality of sections are included in the selected print data, execution of the test printing is restricted.

An image forming apparatus supporting a near field communication (NFC) function identifies, if a user device having an NFC function is NFC-tagged, the user device by receiving identification information of the user device, and displays, when the user device is identified, a user interface (UI) corresponding to the identified user device.

An operation console used in relation to an apparatus as an object of control operated by a user operation includes: a display device having a display area for displaying information to the user; an input device for the user to input a request; and a display control device displaying, if a request for displaying specific information on said display device is input through the input device, the specific information on the display device. The control unit includes: a function setup controller for setting up the image output conditions of output images; and a control-unit side controller having a function of displaying a function setup screen corresponding to the function setup controller, on a display panel. A control method implemented by executing a print setting application that is stored in an information processing apparatus that stores a general-purpose printer driver configured to inquire about capability information in accordance with the Internet Printing Protocol, and extends a function of the general-purpose printer driver, includes: displaying, on a display unit of the information processing apparatus, a first identifier corresponding to a specific paper size acquired from a printer and a second identifier indicating an arbitrary paper size as candidates of a paper size to be used for printing; accepting a setting of a paper size corresponding to the second identifier; and notifying an image forming apparatus of the paper size based on selection of the second identifier.
