This invention relates to an information processing apparatus being able to execute first and second functions and set the processing conditions of each function by using a user interface, and a control method of the information processing apparatus. In a case that either of the first and second functions is selected, an application common to both the first and second functions is launched, and a user interface window generated based on common data corresponding to the application is displayed. The processing conditions of the selected function can be set from the user interface window.

An image forming apparatus includes a display device that displays an input screen image and a touch-panel arranged on the display device, and has a trial copy function of producing, when instructed to produce multiple copies of a document, a copy or copies to allow the user to confirm that the copy or copies are well. When the trial copy function is designated and a copy start key displayed on the input screen image is pressed, the image forming apparatus produces one copy or copies of the document, erases the copy start key from the input screen image, and displays a trial copy key, a trial end key and a balloon including help information. Since keys related to the trial copy are displayed in place of normally displayed keys, operation errors can be reduced and the user can easily execute the trial copy function.

According to one embodiment, a decoloring device includes a reading unit, a decoloring unit, and a control unit. The reading unit is configured to read control information from a first image formed in a predetermined area of a sheet. The decoloring unit is configured to decolor a portion or entirety of a second image, different from the first image, formed on the sheet using a decolorable recording material. The control unit is configured to control erasing of the data of the second image from a storage device, based on the control information, in a case where the decoloring unit decolors the second image.

An image forming apparatus includes a transport unit, an image forming unit, an output tray, a toner container, and a processor that realizes a function of a conformity decision unit, a change reception unit, and a controller. The controller discharges, when the conformity decision unit decides that the toner container is not a conforming product, a quality check sheet to the output tray each time a predetermined number of sheets have been printed, or each time a predetermined time has elapsed. The change reception unit receives a change of a quality adjustment value from a user. In an image forming apparatus including a control unit made of a display panel and a touch panel display for providing preview display, the touch panel display includes: a finished state preview controller for displaying the finished state of a hard copy formed by the image forming apparatus, on the display panel; and a confirmatory display controller for displaying preview images for confirmation in a turning manner. A lever member is displaceably provided to a toner container. A container locking mechanism locks the toner container at a mounting position in a container mounting portion when the lever member is operated from a first operation position to a second operation position in a state where the toner container is located at the mounting position. A locking member is displaceable between a lever locking position and a lever releasing position. An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit configured to perform image formation in a first mode, in which image formation is performed by a plurality of image forming stations, or a second mode, in which image formation is performed by a predetermined image forming station among the plurality of image forming stations; and a controller configured to: control the image forming unit to perform a preparation operation in accordance with color mode information; set a restricted operation state in which the controller prohibits the image formation in the first mode and permits the image formation in the second mode when any one image forming station, except for the predetermined image forming station, is incapable of performing image formation; and prevent the image forming unit from performing the preparation operation when the first mode is set as the color mode information and the restricted operation state is set.
