An image forming device includes a first detection sensor unit that detects a toner image formed on an image carrier; a second detection sensor unit that detects the toner image disposed to be separated in the main scanning direction with respect to the first detection sensor unit and formed on the image carrier; and a controller. The controller causes: an image carrier to carry toner images indicating a first test pattern and a second test pattern, and discriminate a difference from a determination condition with respect to a first determination result based on a first threshold value and a second determination result. The controller determines a component to be an occurrence cause of the difference based on a combination of the first determination result and the second determination result when it is determined that the difference is present.

An image forming apparatus comprises a controller, an adjustment unit configured to adjust an image forming condition based on an adjustment condition corresponding to a profile of a toner adhesion amount in a sheet conveying direction, and an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet with the adjusted image forming condition while conveying the sheet.

The plurality of adjustment images are used for adjusting a forming position of a printing image to be formed on the sheet. An imaging system includes a toner imaging device to form a toner image, a toner image conveying device to convey the toner image, a medium conveying device to convey a medium, and a toner image recording device to record the toner image conveyed by the toner image conveying device on the medium conveyed by the medium conveying device. Additionally, the imaging system includes a control device to determine a stop state including at least one of a state where a recording check toner image is recorded on the medium, a state where a conveyance check toner image is positioned on the toner image conveying device, and a state where a formation check toner image is positioned on the toner imaging device. During the stop state, the control device stops a formation of the toner image that is performed by the toner imaging device, stops a conveyance of the toner image that is performed by the toner image conveying device, and stops a conveyance of the medium that is performed by the medium conveying device.

An image forming apparatus is designed to be capable of easily suppressing a variation of an inclination of a sensor relative to an endless belt and capable of high accuracy and stabilized sensing operation. The image forming apparatus includes a belt unit having an endless belt supported to be rotatable in a circumferential direction, an image forming unit for forming an image on the belt unit, and an optical sensor for detecting light projected onto the endless belt. The image forming apparatus further includes a sensor supporting member for supporting the sensor, and a positioning portion including, as a unit, a first positioning portion for positioning the belt unit by being contacted by the belt unit and a second positioning portion positioning the sensor supporting member by being contacted by the sensor supporting member.

An image forming apparatus performs misregistration correction based on a detection result of a detection pattern. The detection pattern includes basic patterns arranged at a first interval in a sub-scanning direction. Each basic pattern includes N image groups arranged at a second interval. In the N image groups, a first group including an image at a first angle and a second group including an image at a second angle are arranged alternately in the sub-scanning direction. The first interval corresponds to a distance that a surface of an image carrier moves in a period of M times a first period corresponding to a rotation period of a rotational member, and the second interval corresponds to a distance that a surface of the image carrier moves in a period of 1/(N−1) of the first period.

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer including a first image portion to bear a first toner image, a second image portion to bear a second toner image, and a non-image portion to bear an adjustment pattern. A transferor forms a transfer nip with the image bearer. A controller controls the power source to output an image bias as a transfer bias to transfer the first toner image and the second toner image onto a first recording medium and a second recording medium, respectively, in the transfer nip when the first image portion and the second image portion pass through the transfer nip and output a non-image bias as the transfer bias when the non-image portion passes through the transfer nip. The controller performs a constant current control on the image bias and performs a constant voltage control when the image bias switches to the non-image bias.
