According to one embodiment, an image processing device capable of removing a horizontal streak that may show when a document is scanned and made into a file is provided. An image processing device according to one embodiment includes: an image processing unit configured to generate smoothing image data obtained by applying smoothing to image data, and save, as an image file, non-smoothing image data in which smoothing is not applied to the image data when a difference between the non-smoothing image data and the smoothing image data is equal to or greater than a threshold value, and the smoothing image data when the difference is smaller than the threshold value; and a storage unit configured to save the image file.

An image forming apparatus is used, which includes: a scanning unit that scans a surface of a photosensitive member with light and forms a latent image according to image data; a developing unit that supplies toner to the latent image to develop the latent image; a fixing unit that heats and fixes the toner image on a recording material; and a control unit that controls a fixing temperature based on the image data, wherein the control unit analyzes a printing ratio by dividing the image data into a plurality of regions in a main scanning direction when the scanning unit scans the surface of the photosensitive member with light, and determines the fixing temperature on the basis of the position in the main scanning direction and the printing ratio for each of the plurality of regions.
Image forming apparatus including antenna in cover
An image forming apparatus that utilizes a communication device is disclosed. A communication unit of a housing which corresponds to an antenna portion is provided at a position at which the communication unit can be seen without obstruction from the upper side. A communication device such as a smartphone can be brought close to or into contact with the communication unit readily. Accordingly, wireless communication between the antenna portion and the communication device can be established.

An image forming apparatus includes a communication portion arranged inside a cover covering an image forming portion in the main body of the apparatus and including an antenna surface for use in establishing near field communication. The cover includes a stacking portion in its upper section. The stacking portion is configured to receive a recording medium with an image thereon, the recording medium being discharged outside the main body of the apparatus. The antenna surface faces a region of the upper section of the cover downstream in a direction of discharging the recording medium.
