Remaining toner amount detection device, image forming apparatus, and remaining toner amount detection method
A remaining toner amount detection device includes four electrodes and a controller. Each electrode has an arc shape along an outer circumferential surface of a toner bottle, and the four electrodes are spaced a certain distance apart in a circumferential direction so as to surround the toner bottle. The controller detects a remaining toner amount inside the toner bottle by using the four electrodes. The controller determines whether at least one of a first electrostatic capacity value between one pair of adjacent electrodes and a second electrostatic capacity value between the other pair of adjacent electrodes falls within a threshold range. In response to determination that at least one of the electrostatic capacity values falls within the threshold range, the controller detects a remaining toner amount inside the toner bottle based on an electrostatic capacity value, and outputs the detected remaining toner amount.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus, includes: plural image forming units each including an image holding member and configured to form an image that is to be transferred to a recording medium on the image holding member using a dry toner, the number of the plural image forming units being at least five; and plural developing devices each of which is provided in each of the plural image forming units and supplied with the dry toner and a dry carrier, each of the plural developing devices including a dry toner adhering unit that has a length equal to or longer than a length of a long side of an A3 size and to which the dry toner adheres, the dry toner adhering unit being configured to cause the dry toner adhering to the dry toner adhering unit to adhere to the image holding member.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a display section, and a controller. The image forming section forms an image on a recording medium. The display section displays a message to a user. The controller controls operation of the display section. In causing the display section to display a remaining amount display icon indicating a remaining amount display bar with a length that represents a remaining amount of a consumable used in the image forming section, the controller causes the display section to display in an enlarged size the remaining amount display icon indicating the remaining amount display bar with a length corresponding to a maximum remaining amount and continuously changes the length of the remaining amount display bar from the length corresponding to the maximum remaining amount to a length corresponding to a current remaining amount.
Printer, cartridge, and medium storing program to be installed in printer
A printer includes: an installation case to which a cartridge having a first memory is installed, a printing unit which performs printing by using a print material supplied from the cartridge, a sensor which outputs a detection value according to an amount of the print material stored in the cartridge, a cartridge interface communicable with the first memory, a second memory, and a controller. The first memory stores cartridge information including: cartridge identification information and residual amount information according to the amount of the print material stored in the cartridge. The controller acquires the cartridge identification information and the residual amount information from the first memory, stores history information in the second memory, and updates the residual amount information of the history information based on information according to the amount of the print material discharged by the printing unit.
Storing information in a toner refill kit during toner refill
An example operation method of an image forming apparatus includes determining a state of a toner refill operation of injecting toner from a toner reload kit (TRK) into a cartridge in the image forming apparatus, based on completion of injecting toner from the TRK into the cartridge, controlling the TRK to store information indicating a toner refill completion in a memory of the TRK, based on completion of injecting toner from the TRK into the cartridge, updating information of an amount of remaining toner of the cartridge based on an amount of the toner injected into the cartridge from the TRK, and based on the information indicating the toner refill completion being stored in the memory of the TRK, unlocking a locking apparatus in the image forming apparatus so the TRK may be removed from the cartridge.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a developer container to and from which a replenishment container is attachable and detachable, the developer container including an accommodating portion, and a supporting portion, wherein the developer container includes a projection portion that is provided at one end portion thereof in the rotation axis direction of the developer bearing member and projects toward the supporting portion more than a center portion of the developer container in a crossing direction crossing the rotation axis direction, the projection portion communicates with the accommodating portion and includes, at a distal end portion thereof, an attachment portion configured such that the replenishment container is attachable thereto in a state of being exposed to the outside of the apparatus, and a replenishment port for replenishing the accommodating portion with developer from the replenishment container is defined in the attachment portion.
TONER REFILL GUIDE BASED ON THE POSSIBILITY TONER REFILL QUANTITY IN THE PLURALITY OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUSES
An example user terminal apparatus includes a display, a communication apparatus to communicate with an external apparatus, and a processor to, based on information on a possible first toner refill quantity of a plurality of grouped image forming apparatuses provided from the external apparatus through the communication apparatus and a toner quantity of one toner refill apparatus, control the display to display a guide message including information on the time point of toner refill, each of the image forming apparatuses which is a subject of toner refill within the group, and a possible second toner refill quantity of each of the image forming apparatuses at the time point of toner refill.
TONER CARTRIDGE, METHOD FOR DETECTING REMAINING TONER AMOUNT, AND IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS
The present disclosure provides a toner cartridge, a method for detecting a remaining toner amount, and an image-forming apparatus. The toner cartridge, installed on an image-forming apparatus, includes a toner hopper, configured to hold toner; a stirring unit, disposed in the toner hopper and configured to stir the toner in the toner hopper; and a detection unit, disposed on the stirring unit and configured to be in contact with the toner during a process of stirring the toner by the stirring unit and output a current signal. A housing of the toner cartridge is disposed with electrical connection contacts, and the detection unit is electrically connected to the image-forming apparatus through the electrical connection contacts. Whether the toner cartridge is short of toner before printed images are defective due to lack of toner is realized, and the detection process is relatively convenient with low detection cost.
NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM FOR CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL DEVICE
A control device may obtain, at each of a plurality of sets of date-and-time, a current value related to a current remaining amount of a print material used by the print performing unit. The control device may calculate N1 change values by using a plurality of current values obtained at the plurality of sets of date-and-time, each change value being related to a change per unit time of a remaining amount of the print material. The control device may specify a first greatest change value among the N1 change values. The control device may perform a first prediction process that includes calculating a first future value by using the first greatest change value, the first future value being related to a future remaining amount of the print material, and a first output process using the first future value in a case where the first prediction process is performed.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a replenishment empty history recording portion, a post-empty attachment detecting portion, and an image creation restricting portion. The replenishment empty history recording portion records replenishment empty history information to a storage device in correspondence with one of the plurality of developer containers in which a replenishment empty state was detected in a first attachment portion. The post-empty attachment detecting portion detects whether or not a second attachment portion is in a post-empty container attached state where the developer container corresponding to the replenishment empty history information recorded in the storage device is attached to the second attachment portion. The image creation restricting portion, upon detection of the replenishment empty state, restricts an operation of an image creating device, and upon detection that the second attachment portion is in the post-empty container attached state, releases a restriction on the operation of the image creating device.
