IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a medium carrying part carrying a continuous medium, an image forming part performing a print process, a cutting part cutting the medium, replacement parts that are expendable and expected to be replaced when reaching its end of life, a usage detection part detecting usages of all of the replacement parts, a controller controlling these parts. The controller determines if one of the replacement parts reaches its end of life during the print process based on the detection result of the usage detection part wherein the one of the replacement parts is defined as a life-end part, and when the life-end part is found, the controller determines whether or not to cut the medium according to a type of the life-end part and selection information input by an operator before the print process starts.
PRINTING SYSTEM HAVING IC TAG PROCESSING FUNCTION
A printing system having an IC tag processing function includes a first medium conveyance section and a second medium conveyance section that convey a medium including a plurality of medium sheets each having an IC tag, an IC tag processor that performs reading and writing processing for the IC tag, a printing section that performs printing on the medium, a slack generator that permits generation of slack of the medium, a calculator that calculates a substantial conveyance speed of the medium by the first medium conveyance section, on a basis of a length of a single medium sheet having the IC tag and time needed by the IC tag processor to process the IC tag of the single medium sheet, and a speed determinator that sets a conveyance speed of the medium by the second medium conveyance section to a speed slower than the substantial conveyance speed.
PAPER FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A paper feeding device in an embodiment includes a roll-paper storing unit, a curl rectifying unit, and a cutting unit. The roll-paper storing unit is capable of storing roll paper. The curl rectifying unit is disposed on a downstream side of the roll-paper storing unit in a conveying direction of a sheet let out from the roll paper and rectifies a curl of the sheet. The cutting unit is disposed on the downstream side of the curl rectifying unit in the conveying direction and cuts the sheet.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a post-processing unit, and a controller. The image forming section forms an image on a recording medium. The post-processing unit processes the recording medium obtained after the image forming section forms the image. The controller controls a post-processing execution time of the post-processing unit on the basis of information obtained by reading at least one control pattern from the recording medium. The at least one control pattern is formed to control the image forming section.
VARIABLE LENGTH SHEET PRINTING USING CONTINUOUS SUBSTRATES
A hot fuse printer system includes a feeder module adapted to spool a continuous substrate and cut the substrate to a desired length; a sheeting module adapted to feed the cut substrate to a printer module, which includes a hot fuser unit adapted to print on the cut substrate. The feeder module may include at least one sensor configured to determine a length of the substrate. The feeder module, the sheeting module and the printer module are each operatively connected to a controller which is configured to cause the feeder module to cut the substrate in a desired location, the sheeting module to feed the cut substrate to the printer module, and the printer module to print onto the cut substrate in a desired manner.
METHODS FOR REDUCING MEDIA SKEW IN MEDIA ADVANCE SYSTEMS AND MEDIA ADVANCE SYSTEMS
A method for reducing skew in a media advance system comprises advancing a media from a media roll (6a) through a feed roller (3) towards the nip of a drive roller (4); reducing a media transportation speed at the feed roller (3) relative to the media transportation speed at the drive roller (4) for a predetermined period of time when a leading edge of the media reaches the nip of the drive roller; and cutting the media to a predetermined page size at a position upstream of the feed roller.
Sheet feeding apparatus
The present invention provides an inexpensive and compact printing apparatus. The printing apparatus includes a sheet feeding mechanism configured to convey a sheet in an orthogonal direction to a loading direction of a cassette, and moves between a press-contacting position and a retraction position, an urging member configured to urge the cassette in a drawing-out direction, a locking member configured to abut against the cassette at a locking position opposed to the urging member, to regulate a movement of the cassette, and to enable draw-out of the cassette at a release position, and an interlocking member configured to regulate the movement of the locking member when the sheet feeding mechanism is located at the press-contacting position, and to release the regulation of the movement of the locking member when the sheet feeding mechanism is located at the retraction position.
Image forming system with an unjamming execution section
The image forming system includes an unjamming execution section configured to execute unjamming for eliminating a sheet jam when the sheet jam is caused in the image forming system; and a control section configured to control the unjamming execution section to execute the unjamming in accordance with a position of the sheet jam or a portion of the long sheet causing the sheet jam, or both in the image forming system.
Printer
The disclosure discloses a printer including a controller. The controller executes a reception process, a determination process, a first notification transmission process, a second notification transmission process, a data acquisition process, and a coordination control process. In the determination process, it is determined whether any of a print formation process, a feeding process, and a standby process is executed when a first print instruction is received. In the case that the print formation process or the feeding process is in execution, a first notification is transmitted in the first notification transmission process. In the case that the standby process is in execution, a second notification is transmitted in the second notification transmission process. In the case that none of the print formation process, the feeding process, and the standby process is in execution, print data included in the first print instruction is acquired in the data acquisition process.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus configured to form an image on a recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes an optical sensor disposed on a conveyance path of the recording medium. The optical sensor is configured to detect position information of the recording medium conveyed along the conveyance path. A sensor cover is disposed between the optical sensor and the recording medium whose position information is detected by the optical sensor. The sensor cover is configured to guide the recording medium. The sensor cover has a first side facing the optical sensor. The sensor cover includes an electrically conductive surface on the first side. The electrically conductive surface is electrically connected to a main body of the image forming apparatus.
