ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC METHOD FOR PROVIDING FOIL IMAGES
20230107991 · 2023-04-06 ·

Foil images are formed simultaneously with color toner images on a receiver material. One or more color toner latent images are formed on the receiver material using dry color toners. Each dry color toner has a (a) polymeric resin, a (b) pigment colorant, and a (c) wax that has a melting temperature defined as T.sub.color. A foiling latent image is formed using a dry foiling toner that has a (a′) polymeric resin and a (c′) wax that has a melting temperature defined as T.sub.foiling. The foiling latent image is in an area that is different from the color image areas and T.sub.foiling is less than T.sub.color by at least 15° C. All toners are simultaneously fixed in a fuser oil-free fixing operation. A printing foil can be brought into intimate contact with the fused foiling toner at a foiling temperature (FT) that is greater than T.sub.foiling but less than T.sub.color.

Printer with photodetector for detecting fluorescent additives in toner

An example photodetector for detecting fluorescent toner includes a light emitting unit to emit light to a toner image, and a light receiving unit. The light receiving unit is to detect visible light reflected by the toner image, detect that the toner image includes the fluorescent toner based on the detection of the visible light, the visible light generated by the fluorescent toner and having a predetermined wavelength band different from a wavelength band of the emitted light, and output a signal corresponding to the detection of the fluorescent toner.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An image forming apparatus includes a developing unit, a transferring unit, and a fixing unit. The developing unit performs an attachment process in which the developing unit attaches a luminescent toner to a latent image that is formed on a basis of image data. The transferring unit performs a transfer process in which the transferring unit transfers, onto a medium, the luminescent toner attached to the latent image. The fixing unit performs a fixing process in which the fixing unit fixes, to the medium, the luminescent toner transferred onto the medium. The attachment process performed by the developing unit and the transfer process performed by the transferring unit are each performed plural times for the medium, on the basis of the image data.

FIXING APPARATUS WITH BLOWER MEMBER FOR MULTI-DIRECTIONAL COOLING

A fixing apparatus can include a heater roller, a tension roller, a belt movable from the heater roller to the tension roller, a pressure roller to make pressure contact with the heater roller via the belt to form a fixing nip, and a blower member including a first opening to direct air toward the belt and a second opening to direct air toward the heater roller.

An image forming apparatus includes first and second toner containers that respectively contains a non-luminescent toner and a luminescent toner, a first development part provided with the first toner container, and causing the non-luminescent toner, which is supplied from the first toner container, to adhere to a first latent image formed based on image data, a second development part provided with the second toner container, and causing the luminescent toner, which is supplied from the second toner container, to adhere to a second latent image formed based on the image data, which is used for the first latent image, a transfer part that transfers the non-luminescent toner adhering to the first latent image and the luminescent toner adhering to the second latent image to a medium, and a fuser part that fuses the non-luminescent toner and the luminescent toner transferred to the medium.

Imaging system with gloss treatment device

An imaging system includes a toner image forming device and a gloss treatment device. The toner image forming device accommodates a color toner that forms a color toner image on a printing medium, and which accommodates a clear toner that forms a clear toner image on the printing medium. The clear toner has a wax content that is lower than a wax content of the color toner. The gloss treatment device melts the clear toner on the printing medium to apply gloss treatment to the printing medium including the color toner image and the clear toner image.

Image forming apparatus and erasing apparatus

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus performs an image forming process to form an image on a sheet, and performs an image erasing process to erase an image formed on a sheet. A conveying device conveys the sheet. A heater heats the sheet conveyed by the conveying device. A cooling device cools the heater. A processor controls the cooling device so that the cooling device cools the heater between an interval of heating the sheet by the heater.

Glossiness inspection device, glossiness inspection method, and image forming apparatus

A glossiness inspection device includes an illumination device that emits irradiation light to a glossiness detection target and a light receiving device that receives reflected light of the irradiation light reflected by the glossiness detection target and outputs a light reception detection signal according to an amount of the received light. A dimmer of the device adjusts an amount of the irradiation light, and a detection signal adjuster of the device adjusts a gain for amplifying the light reception detection signal. An irradiation position controller of the device selectively irradiates a first gloss region and a second gloss region of a correction plate with the irradiation light. A hardware processor of the device adjusts at least one of the amount of the irradiation light, an offset of the detection signal adjuster, a characteristic straight line for calculating a glossiness, or a calculated glossiness.

Decoloring apparatus and method

A decoloring apparatus includes a sheet conveying unit, a scanner, a decoloring unit positioned downstream of the scanner, a user interface, and a controller. The user interface includes a resolution setting section configured to receive input for setting the resolution of the image to be scanned by the scanner, and a processing mode setting section configured to receive input for setting whether to execute scanning processing by the scanner and for setting whether to execute decoloring processing by the decoloring unit. The controller is configured to control contents of the user interface and to perform a mode limiting processing so that when one of the scanning processing and decoloring processing is set to be executed, the other of the scanning processing and decoloring processing cannot be set to be executed.
