A paper reversing apparatus includes a main conveyance path, a reversing path, first and second guiding plates and a hardware processor. The reversing path is disposed so as to form a predetermined angle with respect to the main conveyance path. Paper enters the reversing path from the main conveyance path and leaves the reversing path to the main conveyance path by being sent backward. When paper enters the reversing path, the processor moves the first guiding plate to a position for the paper to follow the first guiding plate and moves the second guiding plate to a position to avoid the paper. When paper leaves the reversing path, the processor moves the second guiding plate to a position for the paper to follow the second guiding plate and moves the first guiding plate to a position to avoid the paper.

A cylinder member includes: a cylinder body having a cross section and including a dent portion; a sheet member wrapped around the cylinder body and including a metal layer contacting the cylinder body and an outer layer; a first attachment member on a sheet member first end portion and removably attached to the dent portion; a second attachment member on a metal layer end portion protruding from the outer layer in the circumferential direction at a sheet member second end portion, the second attachment member being removably attached to the dent portion; a tension-applying mechanism pulling the second attachment member in a dent portion depth direction to apply tension to the metal layer; a projection on one of the second attachment member and metal layer end portion; and a fitting portion on other one of the second attachment member and the metal layer end portion and fitted to the projection.

The conveyance guide includes a first conveyance guide which faces an image-carrier-side surface of the recording medium, and a second conveyance guide which faces a transfer-member-side surface of the recording medium. The second conveyance guide has a main body portion which has a projecting portion which projects toward the first conveyance guide most in a recording-medium conveyance path, and a step portion which is formed adjacent to the projecting portion on a downstream side of the projecting portion, an elastic member which projects toward the first conveyance guide beyond a plane passing through a downstream-side end of the projecting portion and a downstream-side end of the step portion, and a film member which covers the main body portion together with the elastic member.

An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable image bearing member, a rotatable transfer member, a first driving source to drive the image bearing member, a second driving source to drive the transfer member, and a control portion. Based on a toner amount per unit area of the toner image transferred to each of a plurality of first divided regions on a plane of a recording material in a feeding direction, the control portion controls a driving speed of the transfer member while each of the plurality of the first divided regions passes through a transfer portion. The control portion acquires an index value correlating with a toner amount of the toner image transferred to each of a plurality of second divided regions of each first divided region in a widthwise direction, and controls the driving speed based on the index value while the first divided region passes through the transfer portion.

An image forming apparatus configured to: determine, when simplex printing is set in print settings, whether a mode set in attribute information associated with a sheet type in the print job is a first mode or a second mode; control, when the mode is the first mode, an image forming portion to form an image on a first side of a sheet conveyed from a feeding unit to a conveying path, and discharge the sheet to a discharge portion without passing the sheet through a re-conveying path; and control, when the mode is the second mode, the image forming portion to avoid forming an image on the first side, control a reverse portion to reverse the sheet, control the image forming portion to form an image on a second side of the sheet conveyed through the re-conveying path, and discharge the sheet to the discharge portion.

A transport device includes a powder applying device and a guidance member. The powder applying device is provided in a guide path through which a sheet is guided toward an image holding body holding a toner image to be transferred onto the sheet, and applies powder to end portions of the sheet in a transport direction. The guidance member is provided on a side facing the powder applying device in the guide path, and guides the sheet being transported through the guide path to the powder applying device.
