An enclosing device includes an envelope conveyance path, an envelope loader, an envelope-position restrictor, and an envelope-position adjuster. The envelope conveyance path conveys an envelope to an enclosing position at which an enclosure is enclosed into the envelope. The envelope loader loads the envelope to be supplied to the envelope conveyance path. The envelope-position restrictor restricts a loaded position of the envelope in the envelope loader. The envelope-position adjuster adjusts a position of the envelope with respect to a conveyance direction of the envelope while maintaining a state in which the envelope-position restrictor restricts the loaded position of the envelope.

A print setting controller decides whether a combination of a sheet size and a sheet type specified for print setting is included in a combination table. When the combination of the sheet size and the sheet type specified for the print setting is included in the combination table, a controller executes a print job according to the print setting. When the combination of the sheet size and the sheet type specified for the print setting is not included in the combination table, the print setting controller selects a sheet type appropriate for the sheet size specified as the print setting, from the combination table, and changes the sheet type thus far designated to the selected sheet type. A display controller causes a display device to display a message to the effect that the sheet type has been changed.

A press-bonded sheet in which two sheet portions are press-bonded in a peelable state is manufactured by a method including steps of: forming an adhesive layer containing powder adhesive on a sheet; heating the adhesive layer to fix it to the sheet; opposing an area on the sheet where the adhesive layer is fixed and an area on the same sheet or on a different sheet where another adhesive layer is formed and fixed; and press-bonding the opposed areas. The fracture strain of a main constituent material of the powder adhesive is 10% or more and less than 1000%.

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member; a toner image forming portion, a transfer member, a voltage applying portion, an acquiring portion, and a controller. In continuous printing in which toner images are continuously transferred onto a first recording material and a second recording material, in a case that the first recording material is an envelope on the basis of recording material information, the controller carries out control so that a transfer member cleaning operation, in which a first cleaning voltage of the same polarity as a normal charge polarity of toner and a second cleaning voltage of an opposite polarity to the normal charge polarity of the toner are alternately applied by the voltage applying portion, is executed after the first recording material passes through the transfer portion and before the second recording material reaches the transfer portion.

An image forming apparatus includes: a toner image former that forms a toner image on paper based on image information; a fixer that includes at least a pair of rollers and fixes the toner image formed on the paper at a pressure contact portion formed by the pair of rollers; an adjuster that adjusts a pressure contact force in the pressure contact portion according to a paper type; and one or more controllers that control execution of a job related to image formation via the fixer. The one or more controllers provide, to a user, a notification prompting the user to confirm the paper type of the paper being fed in a case where the paper type set for the execution of the job differs from the paper type of the fed paper.

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member; a toner image forming portion, a transfer member, a voltage applying portion, an acquiring portion, and a controller. An image forming apparatus includes a fixing roller to fix an image by heating a sheet on which the image is transferred and to convey the sheet. In a case in which a first plain paper of which a sheet length in a sheet conveyance direction is equal to or more than a predetermined length is conveyed, the fixing roller conveys the first plain paper at a first speed. In a case in which a second plain paper of which the sheet length is less than the predetermined length is conveyed, the fixing roller conveys the second plain paper at a second speed less than the first speed. In a case in which an envelope of which the sheet length is less than the predetermined length is conveyed, the fixing roller conveys the second envelope at the first speed.
