The conveying guide guides the sheet along the conveying path closer to a downstream side than the fixing device. The branching guide guides the sheet toward an ejecting part along the conveying path closer to the downstream side than the fixing device and guides the sheet toward the inversion path along the conveying path closer to the downstream side than the fixing device. The conveying guide is detachably attached to one of the apparatus main body and the fixing device so as to cover a part of the fixing device from a downstream side in a conveying direction of the sheet. The branching guide is detachably attached to the conveying guide.

An image forming apparatus includes a conveyer roller exposed to an attachment space and a drive force transmission mechanism for transmitting a drive force from a drive source. The drive force transmission mechanism includes a plate driving gear exposed to the attachment space, a transmission gear train transmitting a drive force to the conveyer roller and to the plate driving gear, and a switching mechanism. The switching mechanism includes a driven gear transmitting the drive force to the transmission gear train, a pendulum gear revolvable between a coupled position in which the pendulum gear is engaged with the driven gear and an uncoupled position in which the pendulum gear is separated from the driven gear, and a transmission switch movable between a first position for holding the pendulum gear in the uncoupled position and a second position for allowing the pendulum gear to revolve between the coupled and uncoupled positions.

An image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes a chassis having an opening, a cover, photosensitive members, an intermediate transfer belt, a primary-transfer member, a secondary-transfer roller, a cleaner device, an external-sheet inlet, a waste toner container, a connector, and a conveying roller, which is arranged within the feeding path to feed the recording sheet inserted through the external-sheet inlet in the feeding path. The conveying roller is mounted on the waste toner container and removable from the chassis along with the waste toner container.

An image forming apparatus includes a conveyer roller exposed to an attachment space and a drive force transmission mechanism for transmitting a drive force from a drive source. The drive force transmission mechanism includes a plate driving gear exposed to the attachment space, a transmission gear train transmitting a drive force to the conveyer roller and to the plate driving gear, and a switching mechanism. The switching mechanism includes a driven gear transmitting the drive force to the transmission gear train, a pendulum gear revolvable between a coupled position in which the pendulum gear is engaged with the driven gear and an uncoupled position in which the pendulum gear is separated from the driven gear, and a transmission switch movable between a first position for holding the pendulum gear in the uncoupled position and a second position for allowing the pendulum gear to revolve between the coupled and uncoupled positions.

A sheet conveying apparatus includes: a drawer portion that includes a pair of conveying rollers which convey a sheet; a conveying portion that includes a pair of separating rollers which convey the sheet; and a controller that controls operations of the drawer portion and the conveying portion such that, the pair of separating rollers are separated from each other if a jam of a sheet occurs in a state in which a subsequent sheet subsequent to a preceding sheet spans the drawer portion and the conveying portion, the pair of conveying rollers convey the subsequent sheet to a part between the pair of separating rollers, the separation of the pair of separating rollers is released, and the pair of separating rollers convey the subsequent sheet along with the preceding sheet to a position at which the subsequent sheet does not span the drawer portion and the conveying portion using.

An image forming apparatus includes a chassis having an opening, a cover, photosensitive members, an intermediate transfer belt, a primary-transfer member, a secondary-transfer roller, a cleaner device, an external-sheet inlet, a waste toner container, a connector, and a conveying roller, which is arranged within the feeding path to feed the recording sheet inserted through the external-sheet inlet in the feeding path. A post-processing device includes a post-processing unit that performs post-processing on a recording medium on which a toner image has been formed, and a gloss fixing unit that is arranged in an up-down direction with respect to the post-processing unit, and that applies heat and pressure to the recording medium to impart glossiness to the toner image.

An image forming apparatus, includes: a connecting member that connects, in an image forming device body and an extension unit allowed to be connected below the image forming device body, the image forming device body and the extension unit to each other, wherein the connecting member includes a first connecting claw that is locked to the image forming device body, and a second connecting claw that is locked to the extension unit, and includes an operation portion that switches between a locked state and an unlocked state of at least one of the first connecting claw and the second connecting claw, and the operation portion is operable in a direction in which the first connecting claw and the second connecting claw are connected to each other along the connecting member.
