IMAGING SYSTEM WITH CLEANING MEMBER FOR ENDLESS BELT
An imaging system includes: an endless belt, a tensioning member, a heating member, a pressing member, a cleaning member. The endless belt conveys a printing medium. The tensioning member tensions the endless belt. The heating member heats the endless belt. The pressing member presses the endless belt against the heating member. The cleaning member is located outside the endless belt, between the tensioning member and the heating member, and presses the endless belt inwardly.
Apparatus for controlling sheet flatness under an imaging system robust to media curl
A system for controlling curl in sheets passing beneath a camera includes applying a thin layer of high velocity air to a curved baffle positioned beneath the camera. The high velocity air layer, which will have a tendency to follow the curved baffle (Coanda effect), will divert sheets (Bernoulli effect) towards the curved baffle. By positioning the curved baffle along the media paper path and by applying a uniform air stream to it, a lower pressure area will be created. This will flatten the trajectory of the sheets and thereby remove curl before the sheets pass the camera.
Media handling between modules robust to paper curl
An apparatus for controlling curl in sheets between two transports includes a curved baffle placed between the two transports. A thin layer of high velocity air is applied to the curved baffle. The high velocity air layer, which will have a tendency to follow the curved baffle (Coanda effect), will divert sheets (Bernoulli effect) towards the curved baffle. By positioning the curved baffle between the two transports and by applying a uniform air stream to it, a lower pressure area will be created. This will flatten the trajectory of the sheets and ensure acquisition by the downstream transport.
Image forming system including a plurality of recording medium cooling apparatuses and an uncurling apparatus
In a feeding direction of a recording material, a recording material cooling device is provided downstream of a fixing device, a curl reducing device is provided downstream of the recording material cooling device, and another recording material cooling device is provided downstream of the curl reducing device. By this configuration, occurrence of image defect by the recording material cooling device during the feeding of the recording material can be suppressed, and the curling of the recording material can be reduced after the recording material is cooled.
DECURLING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME
A decurling device is provided on a downstream side with respect to a fixing device in a medium transporting direction and straightens a curl formed in a medium transported to the decurling device. The decurling device includes a bending unit extending across the medium transporting direction and having a guiding surface that guides a leading end of the medium, the leading end coming into contact with the guiding surface, the bending unit bending the medium in a decurling direction by using the guiding surface; an urging unit that urges the bending unit toward the medium; and a single or plural rotating members provided on a part of the guiding surface of the bending unit and rotating by coming into contact with the medium that is in contact with the guiding surface.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING DECURLER
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a fixing device having a fixing nip region and configured to fix the image to a sheet, and a decurler including a decurling guide configured to correct a curl of the sheet while guiding the sheet after the fixing device. The decurling guide is configured to correct the curl of the sheet while guiding the sheet in a X direction, where a sheet conveyance direction at a point of origin is a Y direction and a direction perpendicular to the Y direction is an X direction. A relation of 15 mmG1y25 mm being satisfied, where G1y represents a position from the point of origin in the Y direction is at a point of 15 mm from the point of origin in the X direction on a guide face of the decurling guide.
IMAGE FORMATION SYSTEM
In a feeding direction of a recording material S, a recording material cooling device 20 is provided downstream of a fixing device 11, the curl reducing device 700 is provided downstream of the recording material cooling device 20, and a recording material cooling device 201 is provided downstream of the curl reducing device 700. By this, occurrence of image defect by the recording material cooling device 20 during the feeding of the recording material S can be suppressed, and the curling of the recording material can be reduced after the recording material S is cooled.
