According to an embodiment, an image elimination apparatus eliminates an image formed on a sheet. A sheet supply unit supplies the sheet on which the image is formed. A first reader reads the sheet supplied by the sheet supply unit. An image eliminator eliminates the image formed on the supplied sheet. A second reader reads the sheet passing through the image eliminator. A discharge unit stacks the sheet to be discharged. A controller causes the first reader to read the sheet at a first speed in order to judge whether the sheet is reusable or not based on the reading result of the first reader. The controller also causes the second reader to read the sheet at a second speed faster than the first speed in order to judge whether the image formed on the sheet has been eliminated or not based on the reading result of the second reader.
DETERMINATION DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A determination device includes a processor that is used for determining first paper having a surface on which an embossing process is performed and second paper having a surface on which the embossing process is not performed, a light source that irradiates a surface of paper with light, a light detector that receives the light transmitted through the paper and that detects a light transmittance, an ultrasonic transmitter that transmits an ultrasonic wave to the surface of the paper, and an ultrasonic receiver that receives the ultrasonic wave transmitted through the paper and that detects an ultrasonic transmittance, in which the processor is configured to: use an index that is stored in advance in a storage device and that indicates a correlation between the light transmittance and the ultrasonic transmittance in the second paper, and determine whether or not the paper is the first paper or the second paper according to whether or not the light transmittance and the ultrasonic transmittance, which are detected from the paper, are apart from the index by a predetermined threshold value or more.
IMAGE ELIMINATION APPARATUS, IMAGE ELIMINATING METHOD AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
According to an embodiment, an image elimination apparatus eliminates an image formed on a sheet. A sheet supply unit supplies the sheet on which the image is formed. A first reader reads the sheet supplied by the sheet supply unit. An image eliminator eliminates the image formed on the supplied sheet. A second reader reads the sheet passing through the image eliminator. A discharge unit stacks the sheet to be discharged. A controller causes the first reader to read the sheet at a first speed in order to judge whether the sheet is reusable or not based on the reading result of the first reader. The controller also causes the second reader to read the sheet at a second speed faster than the first speed in order to judge whether the image formed on the sheet has been eliminated or not based on the reading result of the second reader.
Image forming system
An image forming system includes a punch unit, provided in a post-processing apparatus, which includes a punch member that performs punching processing of forming a punch hole in a sheet conveyed along a conveyance path from an image forming apparatus while the punch member rotates, and a detection unit configured to detect a surface property of the sheet conveyed along a conveyance path from the image forming apparatus toward the punch unit. A control unit controls conveyance of the sheet such that the sheet is conveyed to the punch unit at a conveyance speed corresponding to the detected surface property, and controls rotation of the punch member such that the punch member performs the punching processing on the sheet conveyed from the image forming apparatus while the punch member rotates at a rotation speed corresponding to the conveyance speed.

An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a transfer unit, a fixing unit, a detection unit configured to detect a deflection amount of the sheet, and a control unit configured to control a conveyance speed of the sheet by the fixing unit based on a detection result of the detection unit. The control unit is configured to perform a mode that performs, during a time when a single sheet is being nipped by the conveyance unit, the transfer unit, and the fixing unit, a first process of controlling the conveyance speed of the sheet by the fixing unit such that the deflection amount becomes a first deflection amount, and a second process, performed after the first process, of controlling the conveyance speed of the sheet by the fixing unit such that the deflection amount becomes a second deflection amount smaller than the first deflection amount.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image former that forms an image on a recording medium that includes unevenness on a surface thereof; a reader that reads a pattern image formed on the recording medium by the image former; and a hardware processor. The hardware processor acquires, before formation of the pattern image on the recording medium, unevenness information regarding an amount of unevenness on an image forming surface of the recording medium. Based on the unevenness information, the hardware processor sets a pattern image forming position satisfying a predetermined condition, and adjusts an operation of forming the pattern image performed by the image former.

An inspection device includes a reader to read data of an inspection target; and circuitry that detects a vertex of the inspection target from the read data of the inspection target; calculates an angle indicating a shape of the inspection target at the detected vertex; and determines whether a deformation is present in the inspection target, and the circuitry determines that a deformation is present in the inspection target when the calculated angle is outside a predetermined range.
