IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
20190302657 · 2019-10-03 ·

An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable belt member, a first stretch roller, a second stretch roller, a rotary member, a conveyance roller, a pressing member, a driving source, and a control unit. The pressing member moves between a first position and a second position at which the pressing member projects to a conveyance path of the recording material than the first position. The driving source drives the pressing member. The control unit controls the driving source such that the pressing member is positioned at the first position if a basis weight of the recording material conveyed to the transfer nip portion is equal to or smaller than a predetermined value and the pressing member is positioned at the second position if the basis weight of the recording material conveyed to the transfer nip portion is greater than the predetermined value.

Example embodiments include a driving device having: a plurality of vibrating members that may vibrate when the vibrating members are driven; and a holding part that may hold the vibrating members. The holding part may include a first member with which one or more of the vibrating members may be brought into contact, and a second member with which one or more of the vibrating members may be brought into contact. The first member and the second member may be partially coupled to each other. A grounding member for electrically grounding a member held by the holding part may be brought into contact with one of the first member and the second member that is more difficult to vibrate.

Capture of developer leaking from developing device

According to one embodiment, a developing device includes a casing for accommodating a developer, the casing extending in a first direction and including a first insertion portion and a first through-hole that extends from the first insertion portion in a second direction, a first sealing member inside the first insertion portion, and a first rotating body extending in the first direction through the first insertion portion and configured to transport and agitate the developer in the casing. The first sealing member is in contact with an outer surface of the first rotating body and configured to slide along the outer surface of the first rotating body.

Process cartridge and image forming apparatus

A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a drum unit containing the drum, a developing unit containing the roller and being movable so the roller contacts and is spaced from the drum, and a first force receiver receiving a force from a main-assembly first force applier by movement of a door from open to closed positions when mounting the cartridge and a second force receiver movable from a stand-by position by movement of the first force receiver by a force received from the first force applier. The second force receiver takes a projected position receiving a force from the second force applier to move the developing unit so the roller moves out of contact with the drum, the projected position being higher than the stand-by position.

Image forming apparatus with geometric configuration that reduces misregistration of images

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming target looped around plural rotators including a driving roller, having at least one straight portion that is shaped straight when viewed in an axial direction of the driving roller, and transported by the driving roller and the rotators, and three or more image formers arranged along the straight portion and configured to form images on the image forming target. An adjacency distance along the straight portion between the image formers adjacent to each other on the straight portion is an integral multiple of an outer peripheral length of the driving roller. The adjacency distance at a downstream end is shorter than the adjacency distance at an upstream end, and one of the adjacency distances is equal to or shorter than the adjacency distance that is relatively on an upstream side.

PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

Process cartridge and image forming apparatus

A cartridge includes a photosensitive drum and a developing roller configured to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive drum. A first frame rotatably supports the photosensitive drum and a second frame rotatably supports the developing roller. A movable member is movable with respect to the second frame, with the movable member including a first force receiving surface and a second force receiving surface. The second frame is movable relative to the first frame between a contact position in which the developing roller is in contact with the photosensitive drum and a spaced position in which the developing roller is spaced from the photosensitive drum. The second force receiving surface is capable of being moved by the first force receiving surface between a first position and a second position, and the second frame is capable of being moved by the second force receiving surface from the contact position toward the spaced position.
