An angle at which the first electric substrate is attached to the first attachment portion is different from an angle at which the second electric substrate is attached to the second attachment portion.

The present invention is directed to reducing moving members for moving a magnetic body relative to a developer. An image forming apparatus includes a developing unit including an accommodation portion, a developing member, and a magnetic body unit, the magnetic body unit being located inside the accommodation portion and supported to be movable relative to the accommodation portion in a moving direction, a rotary, and a magnetic sensor. A rotation period for the rotary to make one rotation includes a first period. In the first period, the moving direction includes a vertically downward direction. The first period includes a contact period during which the magnetic body unit is received by a developer. The contact period includes timing at which a rotation center of the rotary, the magnetic body unit, and the magnetic sensor are aligned on a straight line in a radial direction of rotation of the rotary.

Toner container having a magnet for toner level sensing
A toner container for use in an image forming device includes a housing having a reservoir for storing toner, a paddle positioned within the reservoir, and a rotatable drive member positioned to push the paddle in a first rotational direction. The paddle is free to rotate ahead of the drive member in the first rotational direction. A magnet is rotatably coupled to one of the paddle and the drive member. A shield is rotatably coupled to the other of the paddle and the drive member such that the shield is movable between a blocking position for attenuating a magnetic field of the magnet to block detection of the magnetic field by a magnetic sensor and an unblocking position for unblocking the magnetic field of the magnet to permit detection of the magnetic field by the magnetic sensor based on a rotational position of the paddle relative to the drive member.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including a photosensitive drum, a developing container, and a developing roller, and a toner cartridge. The toner cartridge includes a toner storage chamber provided with a discharge port, a filter, and an air chamber provided with an inlet port. The apparatus body includes a restricting member configured to be movable in an intersecting direction between a restricting position and an allowing position, a connecting portion communicating with a first passage, and a pump. The restricting member includes a second passage through which the air supplied from the pump to the air chamber passes, engages with the inlet port to supply the air to the air chamber in a case where the restricting member is at the restricting position, and is separated from the inlet port to open the inlet port in a case where the restricting member is at the allowing position.

A toner container configured to be detachably mountable to an apparatus main body includes a container chamber and is provided with an outlet port for discharging the contained toner to outside, a filter configured to prevent passage of the toner and allow passage of air, an air chamber that is provided with an inlet port for receiving the air and is adjacent to the container chamber with the filter in between, and a passage that is provided in the container chamber to pass the toner and has a first opening for receiving the toner and a second opening configured to communicate with the outlet port, the passage extending from the first opening to the second opening, wherein, the only opening through which the air flowing in from the inlet port and the toner is discharged from the container chamber is the outlet port.
Toner container having electrical connectors of different positions
A toner container for use in an image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a body having a reservoir for holding toner. The toner container includes an electrical connector having an electrical contact for contacting a corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device when the toner container is installed in the image forming device. The electrical connector is positioned in one of a plurality of predetermined positions relative to the body corresponding to at least one of a toner color and a toner type of the toner container for limiting installation of the toner container to one of a plurality of toner container receptacles in the image forming device corresponding to at least one of the toner color and the toner type of the toner container.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a rotary including a developing chamber, a cartridge configured to supply a developer to the developing chamber, and a tray capable of detachably supporting the cartridge. The tray includes a first opposed portion configured to be opposed to the cartridge and extend in a predetermined direction, and is disposed relative to the rotary to a first position where the cartridge is located outside the rotary and a second position where the cartridge is located inside the rotary. The predetermined direction is a detachment direction of the cartridge. With the cartridge supported by the tray, a part of the cartridge is located downstream, in the predetermined direction, of a downstream end of the first opposed portion in the predetermined direction.
TONER CARTRIDGE
A toner cartridge includes a first frame with a port to receive external air; a second frame forming a space together with the first frame; and a sheet-like filter to partition the space into an air chamber and a toner storage chamber, and to regulate toner flow while allowing air passage. The air chamber communicates with the port without the filter, and the toner storage chamber communicates with the port through the filter. The filter includes a first surface facing the air chamber, a second surface facing the toner storage chamber, and a third surface extending in the filter's thickness direction, and at least a part of the third surface is adhered to the first frame with an adhesive to be fixed.
