The toner container includes an outlet to discharge toner contained in the toner container, an agitating member to agitate the toner in the container, a coupling to transmit a driving force to the agitating member, a shutter to open and close the outlet, a lever disposed at one end of the container and a pivoting portion disposed at the other end and connected by a common shaft such that both rotate together, and the lever and the coupling are disposed at the one end in a mutually non-overlapping manner when viewed from the axial direction of the common shaft.

A toner conveying apparatus conveying toner used for image forming includes a first conveying portion to convey the toner and having a first screw and a first conveying passage forming member that forms a first conveying space, and a second conveying portion to convey upward the toner and including a second screw and a second conveying passage forming member that forms a second conveying space. The second conveying passage forming member has a connecting port connected to the first conveying passage forming member. The second screw overlaps with the first screw viewed in a direction of a rotational axial line of the first rotation shaft. A cross-sectional area of the first conveying space orthogonal to the direction of the rotation axial line in a second region is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the first conveying space orthogonal to the direction of the rotational axial line in a first region.

An image forming apparatus includes a toner cartridge including a toner container with a supplying outlet and an engaged portion, and a shutter movable between an open position and a closed position, and an apparatus main body to and from which the toner cartridge is mounted and detached, the apparatus main body including a toner accommodation unit, a guide portion for guiding the toner cartridge, a pressing member pressing the toner cartridge in the detaching direction, an engaging member movable between an engaging position and an engagement release position, the engaging member allowing movement of the toner cartridge from the first position toward the second position in a case where the engaging member is at the engagement release position, and a damping force applying mechanism applying damping force to the toner cartridge.

A toner conveying apparatus includes: a first conveying portion to convey the toner, the first conveying portion having a first screw that is rotatable, and a first conveying passage forming member that forms a first conveying space so as to surround the first screw; and a second conveying portion to convey upward the toner from the first conveying portion, the second conveying portion having a second screw that is rotatable, and a second conveying passage forming member that forms a second conveying space so as to surround the second screw and that includes a connecting portion. The first conveying space includes a first region and a second region that is closer to the connecting portion than the first region is, and a cross-sectional area of the first conveying space is smaller in the second region than in the first region.

An example connection structure includes a connector and a connector support body. The connector is to engage with a coupler of a toner cartridge at a driving position when the toner cartridge is located at an operable position. The connector support body is rotatable about a rotation axis. The connector is also to support the connector to allow the connector to be inclined toward one side or another side with respect to the rotation axis while moving along the rotation axis with respect to the driving position.

A developer container includes: a containing unit that contains developer; a transport unit that transports the developer; and a receiving unit that receives a driving force transmitted from a transmitting unit of a body of an image forming apparatus and transmits the driving force to the transport unit. The developer container is removably attachable to the body of the image forming apparatus. The developer container includes a first rotation stopping portion and a second rotation stopping portion that is farther from the receiving unit than the first rotation stopping portion. When the developer container is attached to the body of the image forming apparatus, the first rotation stopping portion comes into contact with a first rotation stopper portion provided on the body of the image forming apparatus, and the second rotation stopping portion comes into contact with a second rotation stopper portion provided on the body of the image forming apparatus. A spatial allowance between the first rotation stopping portion and the first rotation stopper portion is less than a spatial allowance between the second rotation stopping portion and the second rotation stopper portion.

A first development chamber accommodates an agitator. A second development chamber accommodates a development roller and a supply roller. The second development chamber is located above the first development chamber. A toner cartridge contains toner to be supplied to the first development chamber. A transfer device is located above a photosensitive drum in a state where a drum unit is attached to a main housing. The transfer device transfers toner on the photosensitive drum to a sheet. An agitator includes a shaft and a blade. The shaft is rotatably supported by a development housing. The blade is rotatable together with the shaft. The blade has a first end fixed to the shaft and a second end located away from the first end. The agitator is configured such that, when rotated, the second end of the blade reaches a height of an opening in the development housing in a vertical direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a toner cartridge including a toner container with a supplying outlet and an engaged portion, and a shutter movable between an open position and a closed position, and an apparatus main body to and from which the toner cartridge is mounted and detached, the apparatus main body including a toner accommodation unit, a guide portion for guiding the toner cartridge, a pressing member pressing the toner cartridge in the detaching direction, an engaging member movable between an engaging position and an engagement release position, the engaging member allowing movement of the toner cartridge from the first position toward the second position in a case where the engaging member is at the engagement release position, and a damping force applying mechanism applying damping force to the toner cartridge.

A cross-sectional area of the first conveying space orthogonal to the direction of the rotation axial line in a second region is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the first conveying space orthogonal to the direction of the rotational axial line in a first region.
