A detachable container includes: a container body; and operation units on both sides of the container body attaching and detaching the container body. Each operation unit includes an outer gripping unit at an outer side of a respective one of both side walls of the container body, an inner gripping unit at an inner side of the respective one of both side walls of the container body in the width direction in an attachment and detachment operation side surface of the container body, and a cover projecting in an eave shape laterally from a respective one of both sides of the attachment and detachment operation side surface of the container body in the width direction, the cover covering the gap between the respective one of both side walls of the container body and a projecting end of the outer gripping unit when viewed from the attachment and detachment operation side.

A detachable container includes: a container body; and operation units on both sides of the container body attaching and detaching the container body. Each operation unit includes an outer gripping unit at an outer side of a respective one of both side walls of the container body, an inner gripping unit at an inner side of the respective one of both side walls of the container body in the width direction in an attachment and detachment operation side surface of the container body, and a cover projecting in an eave shape laterally from a respective one of both sides of the attachment and detachment operation side surface of the container body in the width direction, the cover covering the gap between the respective one of both side walls of the container body and a projecting end of the outer gripping unit when viewed from the attachment and detachment operation side.

A toner container includes a container body, a cap, bosses and a cover. The container body has a toner filling port. The cap is detachable and closes the filling port. The bosses are provided on the container body. The cover is detachably attached to the container body so as to cover the filling port and the bosses, and has a through hole through which each of the bosses penetrates. The boss has a tip end portion protruding from the cover through the through-hole. The tip end portion is provided so as to regulate detachment of the cover by being worked into a head portion having a cross-sectional area larger than the through-hole, and to permit the detachment of the cover by cutting off the head portion. The container body, the cap and the cover can be reused maximum by the number of times corresponding to the number of the bosses.

A toner container includes a container body, a cylindrical portion and a cap. The container body has a toner filling port. The cylindrical portion is provided around the filling port. The cap is detachable and closes an opening of the cylindrical portion. The cap includes: claw parts provided deformably and insertable into the cylindrical portion to be engaged with an edge of the filling port; a link piece connecting tip ends of the claw parts; a disk part having an opening; a closing plate capable of closing the opening of the disk part; and a fixing member which fixes the closing plate to the disk part. The closing plate is fixed to the disk part with the fixing member and the claw parts are engaged with the edge of the filling opening, so that the opening of the cylindrical is closed by the closing plate.

A toner container is detachably attachable to a developing device. The developing device includes an inlet to be poured with a toner, an inlet shutter to move between a closed position, at which the inlet is closed, and an open position, at which the inlet is open, a biasing mechanism to bias the inlet shutter toward the closed position, an engaged structure provided in the inlet shutter, an engaging structure to engage with the engaged structure and to retain the inlet shutter at the open position against a biasing force of the biasing mechanism, and an engagement releasing structure provided in the inlet shutter and to release an engaging state between the engaged structure and the engaging structure. The toner container includes a contacting surface to contact with the engagement releasing structure and to make the engagement releasing structure release the engaging state.

A toner conveying apparatus includes: a first conveying portion to convey the toner, the first conveying portion having a first screw that is rotatable, and a first conveying passage forming member that forms a first conveying space so as to surround the first screw ; and a second conveying portion to convey upward the toner from the first conveying portion, the second conveying portion having a second screw that is rotatable, and a second conveying passage forming member that forms a second conveying space so as to surround the second screw and that includes a connecting portion. The first conveying space includes a first region and a second region that is closer to the connecting portion than the first region is, and a cross-sectional area of the first conveying space is smaller in the second region than in the first region.

A toner container is detachably attachable to a developing device. The developing device includes an inlet to be poured with a toner, an inlet shutter to move between a closed position, at which the inlet is closed, and an open position, at which the inlet is open, a biasing mechanism to bias the inlet shutter toward the closed position, an engaged structure provided in the inlet shutter, an engaging structure to engage with the engaged structure and to retain the inlet shutter at the open position against a biasing force of the biasing mechanism, and an engagement releasing structure provided in the inlet shutter and to release an engaging state between the engaged structure and the engaging structure. The toner container includes a contacting surface to contact with the engagement releasing structure and to make the engagement releasing structure release the engaging state.

A first contact portion provided on a first shutter member that opens and closes a receiving port for receiving a developer from a cartridge and a second contact portion provided on the cartridge are configured to contact each other in an attachment and detachment direction of the cartridge so that the first shutter member is in a position at which the receiving port is opened. The first shutter member is urged by a first urging member so that a contacting state between the first contact portion and the second contact portion is maintained until a second shutter member that opens and closes a supplying port of the cartridge closes the supplying port when the cartridge is discharged from the apparatus body.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including a first positioning portion, a first cartridge including a developer bearing member, and a second positioning portion, the first cartridge being attachable to and detachable from the apparatus body, and a second cartridge including a storage portion configured to accommodate the developer, a first positioned portion, and a second positioned portion. The second cartridge is configured to be attached to and detached from the apparatus body in a state where the first cartridge is attached to the apparatus body, and a position of the second cartridge in the attachment direction and an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the attachment direction with respect to the apparatus body and the first cartridge is determined by the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion coming into contact with the first positioned portion and the second positioned portion, respectively.
